Ngu Hanh Son or Marble Mountains is a cluster of five marble and limestone hills. The Marble Mountains have multiple cave entrances and numerous tunnels as well as several buddhist sanctuaries and pagodas.
Tam Thai pagoda was built so that the king could relax and to enjoy the beautiful landscapes of Marble Mountain.

A semi challenging walk up 100 steps to the monastery on Marble Mountain. The view is worth the effort. Also very interesting to meet the monks living at the monestary. There are a number of stands at the top offering water and refreshment in bottles.

Marble moutain - also called "Ngu Hanh Son" in Vietnamese. Here it comes, the legend:
- 19th century, Kinh Minh Mang ( Nguyen Dysnasty ), , named the five mountains according to the five elements of nature:
- Kim Son ( Metal )
- Moc Son (Wood )
- Hoa Son ( Fire )
- Tho Son ( Earth)
- Thuy Son ( Water)
Thuy Son is the most beautiful and largest.
Come inside the moutain, climb up to the pagoda, and enjoy the overview of Danang.
Entrance fee: 10,000 vnd.
In the cave, it's better if you dont breathe for a minute, it's not very good smell from the bats.

The building is used to be a Far estearn Studies in Vietnam. It's all about the Old Champa Kingdom. The museum exhibits 300 original sandstone sculptures and some baked products collected from temples and towers that lie scattered from Quang Binh to Binh Thuan in central vietnam.

If you only see one place in Danang, this is it. This Museum was built in 1915 and it is the premier collection of Champa sculpture in the world. The museum, which was designed by two French architects, Delaval and Auclair, imitates many well-known features of Champa towers and temples. The museum was extended in 1935 in order to be able to display artifacts excavated at Tra Kieu which was capital of the Champa kingdom until about the year 1000 AD.
The Champa Museum now has nearly 2000 large and small sculptures. Of these, 288 are on display inside the museum, 187 objects in the garden and more than 1.200 objects are reserved in the storehouse. Most of the sculptures in the museum are original and mainly of three kinds of materials, including sandstone, terracotta and bronze. The majority of these sculptures from the 12th to the 15th century are made of sandstone with different art styles.
The price of admission to the museum is 20,000 dong

This stretch of white sand beach was once the recreation base for many American troops during the Vietnam War. This then was the name on which the TV series was based. The whole stretch of ocean front is known as China Beach and that name is a fairly recent creation. What you see in the picture is really named Non Nuoc Beach. Here you will find many people selling China Beach souvenirs. However, many people claim the "real" China Beach of wartime fame is My Khe Beach which is 6 km from Central Danang by road.
Take note that the mountain that I am taking this photo from of Non Nuoc Beach was once the home of a VC hospital during the war.

The Marble Mountains are comprised of five limestone peaks. The peaks are named after an element - water, earth, metal, fire, and wood. These mountains overlooking Danang are full of caves and secret passages containing Buddha images and shrines. This is an important religious spot and was a haven for Communist guerillas during the war.
A staircase cut into the mountain leads to a series of grottoes. At Huyen Khon Cave, the midday sun pours through holes in the ceiling dramatically spotlighting a statue of the Buddha Sakaymuni. At the foot of Marble Mountain, sculpture villages are renowned for their production of marble figurines and statues, which are displayed along the road and in workshops.
