 | Da Nang Transportation | Tips 1 - 10 of 10 | | Da Nang International Airport is located in Da Nang of Central Vietnam. It is the third international airport in the country, besides Noi Bai International Airport (Hanoi) and Tan Son Nhat International Airport (Ho Chi Minh City). It is an important gateway to access central Vietnam. Besides providing civil aviation service, the runway is also shared with the Vietnamese Air Force. Today, four airlines are operating from this airport. They are: - Pacific Airlines (Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City) - PB Air (Bangkok) - Singapore Airlines: SilkAir (Singapore) - Vietnam Airlines (Buon Ma Thuot, Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Nha Trang, Pleiku, Qui Nhon) For departure at Da Nang International Airport, you need to pay a tax of USD12 for adults and USD8 for children. There is only one way to get to Danang from Singapore. And this is to fly by Silkair. Silkair flies to Danang three times a week - Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays. Direct flights to Danang would take about 2 hour 45 minutes. Do check the timing carefully before booking your tickets as a number of the flights would take about 4 hours as the plane flies via Siem Reap, Cambodia. Also, at times, Silkair does have good promotions for flights to regional countries, including Danang. For more information, check www.silkair.com for more information and promotions. Leave a Comment

Danang is a transport connection to other parts of Central Vietnam. Many tourists will fly to Danang from Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Thailand or Singapore and from here, they will make their way to either Hue, Hoi An or other parts of Central Vietnam. Hence, one is not surprised that at Danang, there is an abundant choice of transport as this is the gateway to the world heritage sites. You can choose to travel by open tour bus, public bus, car or coach. The choice is yours. Personally, I would suggest you to travel by car. It is more comfortable and you get to reach your destination faster and smoother. To travel by car from Danang to Hue would take about 2.5hrs whereas it would take about 45 minutes to Hoi An. Generally, visitors would travel to Hue upon arrival at Danang. After visiting Hue, visitors would travel all the way from Hue to Hoi An. One such agency I would like to recommend is Huong Giang Travel. I have used this agency for my three visits to Vietnam and they have not failed me. Do drop them an email on transport arrangement or airport transfers in Vietnam. The agency does respond promptly. Also, the agency is able to assist you in accomodation and tour arrangements. The airport is located just 3 km southwest of Danang. . There are frequent flights to Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City on both Vietnam and Pacific Airlines, as well as limited services to places in the Central Highlands and Nha Trang. There is also limited services direct to Singapore, Bangkok, Taipei and Siem Reap. Aside from a money changer, airport amenities are rather minimal. A departure tax of $8 USD is charged for international flights. A taxi to or from town should only cost about $3 USD. A taxi from the airport to Hoi An costs about US$15 but only about half that in the other direction. Leave a Comment Theme: Airplane

Is this a jok or what? Our cruise ship docked at Chan May Port, This port is in the middle of nowhere! The only thing in sight was some sort of either sand or salt piles at the pier. The closet big town Da Nang, is one hour away, and Hue is two hours away. Hoi An is one and half hours away. The closest main road to the pier is 8 km away. If you do not have a shore excursion, you are stranded because nothing was within walking distance from port. Luckly limited taxis are available. Be sure to agree on a price before getting into the taxi. Leave a Comment Theme: Car/Motor Home

We took Tigerairways (TR376) from Singapore (SIN) on 18 May 2006 at 06:45 and arrived Danang (DAD) on the same day at 08:30. We paid SGD57.23 (SGD9.98 airfare and SGD47.25 for taxes & fees) per person on a one-way flight because we flew back from Hanoi. Note: Tigerairways doesn't fly to Danang anymore. Leave a Comment
