Dam Market (Cho Dam): Typical Vietnamese market
This market is not touristy at all.
A variety of stalls covering everything from clothing, footwear, food, homewares, fruit & veg.
It really caters for the locals but it is very interesting to wander and browse to see what is available to the everyday shopper.
What to buy: Fruit. A great selection.
I bought one of those little silver vietnamese coffee makers. It cost about US$1.
Dan Market: Fruit
Dan Market is a great place to buy fruit. I bought a durian there, which was delicious, but left me with very sticky fingers. There were also huge stacks of watermelons for Tet.
Be prepared to bargain hard and don't pay the intitial asking price.

Nha Trang Market: Shop around
The Nha Trang market is near the city center. It's a typical Vietnamese market, with many trinkets and small items for sale. Overall the prices were pretty good, although we didn't really buy much. There's also a huge indoor market which lies in the center.

It' s the only shopping store in Nha Trang where you can buy sportswear and beach shorts of all types! Very nice decoration and arrangement. Sportswears and acessories related to beach sport are sold here. This is a outlet store of brand names, having popular colors and sizes to choose from. The price here is very good, normally 10-30%off in comparision with the official website prices.

The Nha Trang center is a new mall that has been build right on the beach front in Nha Trang.
Vietnam is a country where you generally have very few malls, but this is your typical classy mall with expensive brands and classy cafes and restaurants where the hip hang out.
This is surely not your local market kinda place, but a classy place where you can get high quality for high prices.

Ginkgo: T-Shirts in Nha Trang
Good range of men's, women's and children's t-shirts made from raw cotton. The clever designs are inspired by Vietnamese and Asian culture. They are high quality and wash well and retain their shape. Slightly more pricey than some of the other stores in Nha Trang but worth the money.
The rule of 3 when paying for goods
What to pay: Vietnam is one big free market. People sell the same crap but in different places. Remember when paying for goods, never pay the asking price. Especially if you are a tourist and don't speak Vietnamese. To find the going price, start at 25% of the asking price and find out how low they will go. Then walk away and ask the next man who is selling the same item. Do the same 3 times and hopefully you will get the best price.
