by ExoticGal - the acknowledged most beautiful street in Vietnam. Nha Trang have many coconut trees lining on the beach... This view is from Tran Phu Street, the most beautiful street in Vietnam (& I say, Vietnam, not Nha Trang)... Leave a Comment Address: Tran Phu Street, near Yersin crossroads

Nha Trang was the last stronghold of the Cham, and the Cham towers of Thap Ba Ponagar are some of the finest in Vietnam. They were constructed from the 7th to 12th centuries. Four of the original eight towers remain. Admission is 4,500 dong. An added bonus is that they are on top of a hill from which you get some great views of Nha Trang. by ExoticGal Here in Nha Trang the mineral mud & geyser were recently found, & it's the beginning of a tourist hype to flood to this place, around 15 mins from the city center. The mud was very fragrant cos they put mint and some kind of scent in it. It smells like marmalade to me... Heaven! Remember to bring your swimsuit Leave a Comment Directions: Near Ponagar tower, there's a signal outside a little street (allley to be more exact, then you just follow through). Very easy to find

Nha Trang Big Buddha by goldcoaster We went and grabbed a pack of post cards and jumped in a cab. By showing the driver the post cards, he knew exactly where to go and made language barriers disappear. Plus it was cheaper than organised tours. Cost about $5USD for most of the day. Entrance fees were on top of this but they are cheap enough. Leave a Comment

Green Hat Boat Tour by Blatherwick Nha Trang is well known for its boat tours that run to the offshore islands. Mama Hahn was the person that started these tours and even though she isn't allowed to operate the tours anymore, many of us who took the tour with her will never forget her. Mama Hahn ran the best party boats anywhere in the world as far as I'm concerned. How could you beat going to four islands for $7 US. The first island involved snorkeling. The second saw a big seafood lunch. The third was the opening of the floating bar. The fourth was basically relaxing. The price included as much "funny smoke" as you could handle. One Viet Kieu commented that we looked like a boat full of refugees when we got off. It was always a good time and I pity the idiots that thought that they could out party Mama Hahn. The boat tours still go and are still pleasant. However, they have become increasingly family oriented. Even though Mama Hahn eventually ran into trouble with the authorities we still remember what a true party boat is like. Leave a Comment

by ExoticGal And the best part is, with the newly-found geyser they even form a mineral waterfall... Such an amazing thing...!!! For your information, everything including mud-bath, mineral shower, mineral waterfall, swimming pool, massage water rays, hot mineral bath tub comes as a package of VND 50,000 per person (around USD 3.5)... What a deal! Leave a Comment

mama hahns boat trip by cachaseiro mama hahns boat trips are world famous. mostly because they used to include free marihuana. the police have stopped that now, but it's still a very nice boat trip along a very scenic coastline and very beautiful islands. the trip includes free food and snorkelling aswell. vietnamse redwine is free too, but tastes absolutly awful. you might wanna invest in some cheap vietnamese beer that tastes great. the price for the trip is around 8 us dollars for the day, including food and wine. by iwys This is arguably the best beach in Vietnam: 5km of soft, golden sand. It is never overcrowded. I was there during the peak Tet season and although there were plenty of promenaders, the beach itself was still mostly empty. There are clusters of tourists under the umbrellas, where the sunbeds are for hire at a rate of 10,000 VND (60 cents) per day, and where you can order drinks. The sea is a little rough at times, but you can still swim in it. The central section of the beach is the most popular. If you go to the northern section, especially in the morning, you will have a long stretch of beach all to yourself. Most of the hotels and restaurants are along the beachfront on Tran Phu Boulevard, so you can walk across the road for a meal or a drink. Leave a Comment

This enormous 9 metre-high Buddha was built in 1963. This pagoda commemorates the monks and nuns who died demonstrating against the Diem government. It sits on a hill near the train station, and is worthwhile going up for the view over Nha Trang & the coast. The pagoda at the base of the stairs that lead up to the giant buddha is very ornate. It was built in the 1930's and has a very strong Chinese influence. The admission is free here. Ignore the school kids that want to give you a guided tour (unless you want them to) Others have mentioned this as a warning. I guess some of them may be more forceful than others. We found that once we politely refused them, they left us alone. There are however some pretty sad characters on the steps on the way up. Beggars with deformities, blindness etc. I would suggest saving some of your small change for here, it's hard to give to one & then not to others. Address: 23 Thang 10 StreetDirections: Almost opposite the main railway station

by iwys Dan Market is an interesting place to wander around. There is always something to catch the eye. I saw nuns gambling on a game that involved which number house a hamster would go into. I'm sure if you look hard enough, you'll be able to find something even more bizarre than that. You can also get a meal here at one of the market stalls for 70 cents. The lady in the picture is preparing my lunch, which I ate stting on a stool. She washed my chopsticks by dipping them in the boiling soup. Leave a Comment
