Phu Quoc Travel Guide

 ozpaul Says:  This is a great little village. We stopped here on our motorbike tour of the island. There were some really pretty little fishing boats and the village had a really relaxed feel. A great place for a beer!! 

 ozpaul Says:  There are so many places along the beach to eat at. There are seafood restaurants dotted along the waterfront. It makes a perfect ending to the day to walk along te beach, stop for a drink and have dinner somewhere.

 jolou Says:  If you are staying at the Thousand Stars end of long beach, pay a visit to the beach Club right at the end. very quiet surroundings, friendly staff, some comfy looking hammocks and they do a great fish and chips. The music is good which is unusual on the island and they also...

 Greggor58 Says:  We rented motorbikes at a small shop located at 100 Trang Hung Dao ...the main road that goes South to An Thoi...and used them to tour the Island...I only rented for one day...while Kevin rented a few days and did some different areas of Phu Quoc..Motorbike is the common way... 

 Greggor58 Says:  To maximize our time we used Vietnam Airlines to get to and from Phu Quoc...we flew in and out of HCMC.As Ive mentioned already in my Hoi An pages I wouldn't hesitate to use Vietnam Airlines again at all...the service received from this airline was excellent...on time... 

 alduboc Says:  Be aware of the Ha Tien to Phnom Penh scam! In Phu Quoc, agencies advertise a tourist bus service that takes you from Ha Tien to Phonm Penh for US18 (in fact, U$19, give their exchange rate). I was promised no walking, no waiting, and a big bus. As it happens they left us... 

 Greggor58 Says:  We found this out the hard way....we were using travelers checques....we had ATM cards so it wouldn't have been the end of the World had we needed to use them however there is only ONE BANK in Duong Dong that is OPEN on Saturdays..and there are plenty of ATMS around.We had... 

 Greggor58 Says:  When we were touring with motorbikes...gas stations were almost NON-EXISTENT.....I only saw ONE...in the city of Duong Dong...About mid afternoon we passed a roadside stand that was selling gasoline in small plastic containers...I noticed that my tank was a less than half... 

 Greggor58 Says:  If you're planning to rent a motorbike this is just a heads up...that most of the roads that you'll encounter when you leave the cities are DIRT ...and some aren't even that..We ended up on SOME bridges way out in the boonies that were not much more than worn wooden...
