A pleasant restaurant where wild boar and venison from the region were made into appetising meals.
The owner's daughter was delighted to find that we were Australian as she was soon to leave for Sydney for her sister's wedding. As she hadn't been to Hanoi, it was hard to imagine the degree of culture shock that was about to happen.
While we ate, the Hmong hawkers stood outside the windows holding up their wares.

More of a problem than a danger, the hawkers are persistent.
We found that we had to be both assertive, and good humoured.
