In a nutshell
Just explore it by yourself!
If you have come to Sapa to party, you are straight out of luck. Most people spend their time hiking and trekking, come 9 o'clock, everybodies hit the sack. There is one disco, the Apocalypse Redux (no relation to the Apocalypse in Hanoi or Saigon). The main attraction here are the minority shows on Fridays and Saturdays, attended by dozens of back-packers sharing a single coke. After the show, the locals take over, shaking and boogeying to techno beats. Problem is that the place only has 2 CD,s of way too loud techno. Best bet might be to have an informal round of drinks with a few buddies.
Dress Code: Any which way is fine.

Sapa is full of nice things to buy, like handmade silverjewelrys and clothes - and almost for free! But when you buy these products from sweet little girls their parents get in trouble, because childrens should be at school in the daytime. If they dont go, parent get money penalty from school - and they are already very poor!
I dont want to moralize, but I hope you think about it, at least.
