The day after Tet I was walking around Hoi An. I decided to sit down for a moment on the steps of YALY, an upscale shop that was closed for the holiday.
Four young girls were already sitting a couple of meters away.
Shortly one of them approached me, handed me her camera, and asked me to take a picture of the group.
I did.
Soon one of the four came over and asked me to pose for a picture with her. Then the other three did the same.
I could not resist asking for reciprocation. These are the four youngsters.
My guess is that the girls are not locals. Hoi An residents are accustomed to seeing Westerners. The girls must have been visiting Hoi An from some place where European types are not often seen.
The girls' faces display an interesting range of reactions to having their picture taken by a westerner.
