Pretty far from the city center, but worth the hike. The Imperial set meal is beautify present and even better to taste. The price is a little steep, so only come if you’re willing to spurge a little on yourself. The starter and dinner and amazing, but desert is a little weak, just so you know. Nice decor too.
Favorite Dish: Go for the Imperial set meal. Its worth the money.

This very local street made a strong impression on the first time I was in Hue few years ago. This time coming back, I want to find it and try it again. All sellers used " Den Dau " - Oil Lamp - not neon lamp and the whole street is sparkling with about 30 - 40 oild lamps.
" Banh Canh " is served - This is one kind of noodle with a slice of grilled fish, pork & herb and costs only 1,500vnd.
Now some neon light is used, but still, the oil lamps ,are on the table.

It's worth to try the Hue dishes, cause it's famous about the way people cook , serve & eat. Royal dinner is what it's called. But this is not royal dinner, we had lunch in this small restaurant which is nice.

The Restaurant is situated in a beautiful garden on the banks of Huong River;as there is always a relatively cool breeze from the river, the outdoor-seating is very convenient and a nice place to watch the sunset .
Favorite Dish: Although also international food is served, especially the local food, as "Hue Beef Noodle Soup" and many sweetwater-fish are to be recommended.

This cafe is owned by Thu, a woman with mountains of energy, so she can be a little in your face but she is very helpful. This tiny bar-cafe has loud music, good food and friendly staff that run excellent motorbike tours around Hue. Both are popular with travelers and open late. The walls and ceiling are covered with graffiti from travellers from all over the world.
Favorite Dish: Nothing overly interesting just good to fill you up and they have a good selection of booze too.

This is a good place to try some local cuisine. They serve Banh Nam (shrimp and pork with sticky rice in a banana leaf), white rose, and a few others done in the region. The neat thing is to watch the people making the food in the corner.

This place has has pretty good food at a cheap price. However, this place has a special place in my heart for another reason. When I got sick in Hue (not from this place), the girls who were flagging down customers looked after me to make sure that I was ok. The funny thing is that I've heard that the two got married and moved to Canada.

This small restaurant can almost be classified as a bar as the owners are out on the street enticing people in at night. It's all very friendly and the food is decent. Minh will also arrange tours or rent bicyles to you.

Lac Thanh Restaurant is on the corner, next door to Lac Thien Restaurant. They serve the same food - banh khoai and nem lui, at the same prices and look pretty much the same. According to the Moon Handbook, Lac Thanh was actually the original one and Lac Thien the imitator, but "both claim to be the real one...it appears they may all be related - and there was a split in the family business."
This one, Lac Thanh, the one on the corner, is run by a family of deaf-mutes. It is said that the owners of Lac Thien, next door, also pretended to be deaf-mutes, but when I was there, perhaps because it was Tet, they chatted away like crazy. In fact, when I was eating in Lac Thanh, the eldest daughter from Lac Thien, where I had eaten the day before, walked by and said, "Enjoy your meal".
So, how do they stack up? Well, I found the food at Lac Thanh marginally better, but I much preferred the atmosphere at Lac Thien. My advice? Try them both and see what you think.
A banh khoai costs 5,000 VND at both retaurants. Really, you need two of those to fill you up. Huda beer, brewed in Hue, costs 8,000 VND.
Favorite Dish: Banh khoai, of course.

The friendly, family-run, Lac Thien Restaurant is one of the two best restaurants in Hue in which to try the most famous local dishes, Banh Khoai and Nem Lui.
Favorite Dish: Banh Khoai is a type of stuffed crepe, accompanied by peanut sauce.
