Body insect repellent. To avoid mosquito bites, dab or spray an effective repellent all over the exposed parts of your skin whenever needed. There are only two that really work. The most recommended one is DEET®, which only works at concentrations over 30%. It’s found in different brands of insect repellents. A newer repellent containing the active ingredient Icaridin (a.k.a. Picaridin or KBR or Bayrepel®) was developed by Bayer, who commercializes it only through its own brand, Autan® (previously, also based on DEET). They’re both effective if instructions are followed.
