Favorite thing: I was reading your blog about the Pritchard's Bakery...and they've been around for more then a 100 years. I couldn't believe it myself but the owners are good friends of mine. You should try their new donuts, they're just as good.
Favorite thing: A great collection of maps of all kinds
Fondest memory: Warm, sunny and rain every day. Clean fresh pacific air. Sounds of palm leaves whispering in the breeze. Strums of gentle guitars.Related to:

Favorite thing: If you can afford it...rent a car for the day (public transport is something you should forget about...) and tour the island of Upolu from Apia
Fondest memory: Apia, the capital is a small pleasant city. Right in the center of the city, there is a clock tower and next, something like a tourist office, helpful but curious....(how an European could show up here....I couldn't be more distant from my homeplace).
In Apia, to relax, go to Palolo Deep Marine Park, where snorkeling and sunbathing is great (all foreigners living in Samoa seem to meet there).
Around the island, I strongly recommend : FATUMEA POOL, a crystal clear sweetwater source where you can swim...very refreshing (>>>the picture shows Fatumea pool )
Also the best beach called : RETURN-TO-PARADISE Beach where the famous movie was filmed.

Spend as much time as you can on Savaii!
Fondest memory: Watching the slow lazy afternoons drift by on the tides while sharing a cold Vialima with good friends.
Rushing from home in the evenings and driving past the village of Leone in the Western District to the Pritchard Bakery - you've NOT had fresh island bread till you've been there!! And the prices are dirt cheap - uncut and in brown paper bags, this is a real treat!! Pritchard's Bakery has been an island icon for over 25 years -
