Visit Parliament House...it's the home of Australia's Federal Parliament. You can go inside and look around or you can get a free tour. Once when I went I had a broken ankle and they gave me a wheelchair to use for the day...I must admit, it did make it harder to get around but we still managed to see everything. Of course, Floriade is also about people; about the charming little girl with the great hat I spotted running around who just made my shot of the playground; the guy I met who was involved in the first ski resort in Kashmir; the old lady with the walker who was just happy to be there; the artist who was in a nice place, mentally and physically....

Wow, the ratings were good, the praise was lush. Margaret Pomeranz gave it four and a half stars and gushed in her praise of the movie. The movie house, one of the Palace cinema chain, was nearby, only about two blocks away as it turned out, so off we went. What we didn’t expect was how we wouldn’t be able to stop blabbing about the amazing...

Walter Burley Griffin originated this term, which refers to the area between Parliament House and the lake, flanked by Commonwealth Avenue on the west and Kings Avenue to the east. As a visitor, it is important that you should understand that the buildings here are entirely of national significance - they are here for the nation and in general...

The Canberra-Nara Park opened in 1999. The Park is a symbol of friendship between the sister cities of Canberra, built as the national capital of Australia in the 20th century, and Nara, the capital of Japan in the early 8th century. Set on the shores of Lake Burley Griffin, the park features traditional timber structures, stone lanterns and other...

Probably not, but you can rest (or not) assured that if there are ghosts in Canberra then Old Parliament House would be top of the list of probability. There are certainly enough photos, paintings and memorabilia to give you an idea what they may look like. This chamber was a more personalized area than the new one sitting beneath the grassy knoll...

A funny thing happened on our way from Melbourne to Sydney, we stopped in Canberra. This is a city that only exists because of the rivalry between Melbourne and Sydney.
