Fire twirling a storm by Amelei BYRON BAY If you havnt guessed by now i like to do things a little differently. Byron Bay is ....well its Byron Bay really. It lives in a hub of its own...... Although maybe not the most 'hip and happening' little town, it is deffo worth a look. It is the most easterly point in Austalia and is home to the 'alternative' culture, or those wanting to conform to be.... The nightlife, i found is alive and unpredictable! Theres nothing greater than closing time at the pub, youre somewhat (well in my case) blind drunk. You walk over to the beach and it seems everything comes to life. There are people everywhere just chilling out, playing music, talking and singing. My story went something a little like this..... Went to pub, got drunk, went for a walk over to the beach (walking ,stumbling you know??). I sat down and just observed the place. The roar of the ocean, the singing in the distance, there was a guy at 3am reciting poetry by the rocks, there was a distant echo of djembe drums and a digeridoo- so melodic and beautiful. I saw a group down on the beach firetwirling and i, thinking i was 10 foot tall and invinsible, stumbled down and by the end of it the locals were teaching me to fire twirl. it was magic!! Im not saying i was any great, infact i really sucked big time but we laughed and laughed and had a great time! We all walked back to the main beach and we started dancing. The musicians came over and played for us and more joined in until we had so many people thumping their feet away. it was AWESOME!
Less is more??? haha I really sont think people in Byron care too much who you are, where youre from and how you dress. They are a really chilled out bunch. by Amelei Okay just discovered this one guys on the weekend and i had some serious fun....... Another bar full of randos and good times. Lots of beer flowing, loads and loads of people and the place is quite big. It has pool tables, huge outdoor drinkie social thang going on, good music, nice bar staff and some dam hot guys haha ( girls this one is for us!!) Cheap drinks ( by standard bars i've been to) and the atmosphere is really cool. Live bands on Sunday in the Beer Garden. Nice to chill out listening to music when those more than above average Brisbane temperatures are soaring. I think i'll be seeing more of this place.
Dress code, as ive repeated myself one too many times, is the usual. Dress to impress haha. I dressed as an indian gypsie for the hell of it.... people thought that was a laugh and i met loads of friendly faces. I like to be a little different :-) Leave a Comment Theme: Live MusicAddress: Red Hill Brisvegas (brisbane)Directions: Near the city centre, walking distance to the main hub of Brisbane and taxis are frequently awaiting your departure. You will have no trouble finding the place.

A case of the vapours by Amelei DENDY CINEMA Showing the latest and best in quality film releases, the Dendy is the only cinema in Brisbane that offers a world of appreciation for finer cinema goers. Located in the heart of the city at 346 George St, the Dendy Cinema is one of the few authentic 1940s cinemas left standing. Its history begins in the 1940s as the Lyceum Cinema.
No dress code really , just go as you are. Dendy shows some really interesting movies away from the main stream vibe. Theres loads of really great Art House and Foreign films. Good times had by all by Amelei Okay some would call this sad, but The Regatta is like my local watering hole. I really love it. It is situated right on the river in Brisbane and you're always sure to have a great night. I have met so many travelling tourists at this place, all with great stories to share over a beer or 6. Theres a reasonable courtyard out the back, which is nice to get away from all the music and go go dancing. The best nights to go are Wednesday, Friday and Sunday. They always seem to pack in all types of people, from all walks of life. The beer i will admit is a little watery, but i go for the atmosphere and great times! You will even get to meet Simmo the Urban Legand ( you'll understand when you meet him), and other crazies.
No sandles, no singlettes. Jeans are OK and good shoes, nice shirt (to impress the ladies guys- take note ). Its a pub but reasonable dress code does apply. Underground Bar at Coober Peddy by darthmilmo After dinner, we went to the Underground Bar, which as most of the other buildings in town was built underground. It was an interesting place where we all got to chat, play pool, and have fun.

Star Gazing in the outback by darthmilmo Perhaps the best thing to do in the evenings while in the Outback is stargazing. It is so simple. All you have to do is look up at the bright night sky. The best nights are those where the moon doesn’t rise. You are the entertained to a full display of bright starts, distant galaxies, and even our own Milky Way. This backdrop of the moon was beautiful!

The Sphinx by Sweetberry1 Not really into the nightclub scene myself, but if you are down Geelong, Victoria way, the Sphinx is a place you might enjoy. I believe it is a over 25's age group, and I could probably get in if I show some ID, but I have never tried.. LOL....
Dress to kill.. ;-) Or neat casual. Leave a Comment Theme: NightclubDirections: Geelong, Victoria.
