Heaps of night life all over Oz. If you like clubbing, a pub crawl with your mates or you are the sophisticated type who likes a few glasses of wine in a bar. It's all there! I have a couple of favourites The Beach Road Hotel in Bondi is one of them along with Home which is is Darling Harbour.The Bondi Hotel has a main bar a restaurant and a upstairs bar which quite often plays host to live bands and DJs. Home is a modern club with differnt tyoes of music on different nights. My personal favourie is 'Kinky Disco' which is funky house music and old skool disco. Along with the fancydress which is totally optional makes it a great night. The Beach Road ...dress code..what dress code?As as your wearing somthing your in! Just as long as your not wearing thongs or flip flops (depending on what you call them) no problems!Home has your useual club dress code no shorts..ect...ect... yadda......
I spend a wonderful night dancing on the table without shoes. It is very common in the pub that everybody who wants can stand and dance on the table.At the beginning I was a bit ashamed but later ... I really enjoyed. no dress code
Well one thing Australia does have going for it is its nightlife..we really do know how to party that i can assure you.. none of this closing at 2am business like in the US, most of our clubs go way past 6am and then you just move on to another one that runs all day!!!NON-STOP.. no matter what State your in or visiting, there are clubs for EVERY taste of music and that run ALL night and ALL day. Anything from Well dressed suite's to the oversized baggy jeans look.
The Woolshed in Cairns, North QueenslandNot the place for everyone but you should at least check it out. Good place to eat to start out the night, many of the hostels give free meal vouchers for it but you can get a really GOOD meal if you pay the $3-$4 to upgrade. But around10 or 11pm, the restaurant atmosphere transforms into a crazy club. You are actually persuaded to get up and dance on the tables, there is a happy 2 hours where a jug of beer is $5, and the air conditioning is cranking so you don't get heat exhaustion. There are pool tables too if you aren't into table dancing... You can wear pretty much anything you want but you have to at least have sandals witha heal strap on them.
A walk along the Yarra river in downtown Melbourne will take you along some pretty buildings (lit up with colored lights)and a 'fireball' pyrotechnic show. There are also entertaining water 'fountains' and a mini-las vegas atmosphere at the casino!All free entertainment along the river walk ...pryotechnic shows, lighted water fountains, and street performers. Smart casual for inside the casino.
Even though nightlife ends at around 10 or 11 at night, pubs and bars are the place to be, listen to band playing ' waltzing matilda' or the down under song. Even if it is not your type of music, it creates the perfect atmosphere and ambiance for the perfect location. However there would always be some pokies venues to attract potential gamblers and tourists, 24 hour a day.One might say that we were on a bar tour! Indeed everynight was a chance to discover the place to be and it is a good way to mingle with the locals and learn more about the area. we thought that we could catch up on our sleep during the coach trip the next morning....wrong, very wrong!! Anything!!!
Nightlife seemed to be easy to find everywhere. The night life in the out back is extremely WILD. Every place I went was something to remember. Here we are dancing on the pool table at a local watering hole.
