Though still enjoyable.Hit the numerous Irish Bars for a relaxed atmosphere, 'City Rowers' to pick up and/or get free drinks, 'Fridays' to show off your new suit, the 'Port Office' wine bar to either pick up a guy ina suit or one of hundreds of gold diggin' females on a Friday afternoon. Upstairs has good music. Depends on the DJ and crowd though.The 'Adrenaline Sports bar' to watch some sports on the big screen and for a fun night - though only if you have NO taste in music. The DJ should've been shot along time ago (unless of course you like the Greece soundtrack or Prince/Symbol or old Madonna tunes).'Mary Street' alias Scary Street on a Thursday for $1 drinks. Jupiter's Casino at Broadbeach - a hive of activity not only when the sun goes down. Play blackjack, poker machines etc, or enjoy a fine dining experience from cafe to silver service. Try to catch the show currently playing in the Jupiter's showroom - you will not be disappointed! The Prince Albert pub is a must go for a good time. Smart casual.

Plenty of nightlife in Oz...Sydney and Melbourne fight it out for the best club nights. Both cities have a big pub scene, in fact, all Australian cities have a pub scene!There are plenty of backpacker nights in all the main cities which usually means drinking heavily, playing games and being sick! Perth and Darwin were great because you can get free meals and drinks at certain places...always a bonus when on a budget!There was not much nightlife on the West coast..usually only 1 bar in each small town with a population of a few hundred people but i found myself in a few chatting to some locals over a nice cold VB or Carlton cold(quality beer!). Not as fussy as England but some places can be a bit strict.....apart form Darwin where anything goes!Picture : Me after a big night out,Darwin
