sun tan 30+
Photo Equipment: spare memory on your digital camera or plenty of films
tripod for a sunset pic of Uluru
Miscellaneous: Never forget to buy water when leaving your accommodation for a (road) trip through the desert. During the trip from Alice Springs to Uluru it is possible to get water in Alice Springs, Glen Helen, Kings Canyon, Kings Creek, Curtin Springs and Uluru.
It is also possible to get petrol for your car in these places.
Good shoes are essential if you're going to be doing a lot of walking.
Toiletries and Medical Supplies: Bring these with you as you may not be able to get all at some small towns, plus you'll pay lots more.
Photo Equipment: Buy your film, etc in the city/larger towns before you leave.
Camping/Beach/Outdoor Gear: Definitely a hat with corks (even if it looks silly!) or fly/mosquito netting in some seasons, when the flies and mosquitoes are bad (I'm told that flies are normally always bad out here)
