Uncle Sam's: Latex glove found in late-night stir fry
THE only benefit of finding an entire latex rubber glove in your Asian stir fry is that you're halfway to having a first aid kit for the food poisoning or anaphylaxis you're likely to suffer.
One Darwin couple was outraged this week to find a glove buried in a beef noodle dish they bought from a 24-hour take-away outlet.
Evelyn Nicholson and Rod Jockway told the NT News they made the discovery at Uncle Sam's in Darwin.
"I thought it was a tough piece of meat," Mr Nicholson said.
"I pushed it to one side and said I'd tackle it later.
"It turned out to be a glove."
The couple reportedly complained to Northern Territory health authorities after confronting the manager, who denied ever serving them the beef meal.
The restaurant manager failed to return journalists' telephone calls.
NT News reporter Conor Byrne, who wrote the story, said the glove was an indication the restaurant had made attempts to be hygienic.

Uncle Sams: The 24 Hour War
Located on Smith Street are 2 24 hour eat in Diners and stores right across the road from each other. Now most Darwinites know and will tell you tourists, and I agree with them - Choose Uncle Sams. Even if just for mere protocal and the fact that they were there first. The locals support the old before the new. Uncle Sams has been there longer. It isn't the best of food. But its open after everything else shuts and when you are hankering 4 something on your walk home from town in the early hours of the morning, the chinese aint so bad.
Favorite Dish: Go for the chinese.
Uncle Sams: food 24 hours a day
This place may have a bad reputation however when everything else in Darwin is shut, Uncle Sams remains opeb 24/7. great for some chinese, a snack or just a drink, especially after a late night.
Favorite Dish: chinese is the pick of the food available
