I must fully admit that I am a real fan of bakeries and their wares – yum.
The Jabiru Bakery has one of the best range of tasty tucker that I have ever encountered and does include freshly made sandwiches and filled bread rolls on order. They also have a menu of hot take-away selections including great looking hamburgers etc.
It is a bit of a bun fight – so to speak – of locals and tourists all jostling for service. Quite easy to spot the locals – they are wearing mine safety gear and solid looking work boots. Don’t get too close to them as they work in a uranium mine and their food might become toasted from their mine produce.

We definitely lucked out when we chose a location for breakfast before heading out for the next day in Kakadu. We chose the Jabiru Bakery in the town of Jabiru which turned out to be a great decision. This is a typical Australian style bakery serving morning pizzas, meat pies, pastries, and other baked goods along with some rich coffee to really get you started in the morning. You can not go wrong with the pizza with bacon bits and cheese, and the cappucinos were excellent, especially when you were prepared to not expect too much!
Favorite Dish: I enjoyed a taste of a couple things here, including the morning pizza, the chocolate covered pastries, and a good cup of coffee.
