Top Northern Territory hotels
Considered the Camel Capital of Australia, where else would you find the world famous Camel Cup but in Alice Springs?About a dozen camels line up at the starting line on their knees with their riders aboard. When the pistol sounds, the camels awkwardly hurry to their feet and then to the finish line. They can actually move quite fast and it is an interesting spectacle to see.
Uluru (or Ayers Rock), is a sacred site for the Australian Aboriginal people. They consider it offensive for us to climb all over it. Show some respect and instead do the walk around the base, there are other rocks to climb.
Rumor has it that those in the Top End drink their beer from a Darwin Stubbie, a massive 2000ml/70.5 oz. container. Saw some in the souvenir shop but it's far too hot here to drink bigger than a 10 oz. middy!
