If you are going to be out in Uluru and you are not the type that needs to sleep to actually enjoy the tours by day, then i would definitely recommend stopping into the Outback Pioneer Bar and Bottle Shop for an evening night capper.

Sarah and I are not huge partiers, as we are trying deeply to see the whole world, and this is tough to do when you do not wake up until 11am in a beer induced coma.

We did come in late a couple of nights from the journeys and this place was alive and kicking well into the evening hours!

Yea, right...

There are no licensed premises inside Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park. There are several bars inside Ayers Rock Resort.

Furthermore, you need a permit to stay in the National Park after dark and also to consume alcohol.

The best way to do it is to join one of the designated tours. The tours usually involve an afternoon walk followed by a BBQ and drinks. It isn`t exactly nightlife, but the setting is superb and the view is spectacular.

Anything, provided you have adequate footwear.

Well, this is a family tip, but it does involve getting all heated up. It can get quite cold in the evening at Uluru, especially in the winter. We visited in June of 2005, and it was below freezing at night. Almost all of the camping outfits will stop along the way TO the park, to allow participants to collect wood. You'll need the fuel for both cooking and a warm campfire.

Bring your warm coats and stay near the campfire when you're not in your sleeping bag.

Uluru National Park (Ayers Rock) Nightlife

They had a few restaurants at the Pioneer Lodge. It was kind of epensive but OK. The one night we had a barbecque the one night where everyone could try kangaroo meat. It was probably the best food I had the whole trip. It cost about $25.00 AU.

The barbeque was outside so you could wear pretty much whatever you want. I always dressed up for dinner though.

	Things to do at night

A long walk to a place where you can have a nice view of sunset, the light of the sun change reflect on the rock will change the color from brown to red, then from red to blue then turns purple before it get dark.
