We booked our trip with with Viator online and were picked up at our hotel. We were taken to Ayers Rock Airport where we took off and headed over the Yukara Resort to Uluru. The views from the helicopter were fantastic and you get a better sense of the size of it. We then continued on to Kata Tjuta before turning back for a last view of Uluru before we landed again. Well worth the price for a unique experience. Leave a Comment

Whether you decide to climb the rock or not, it's still worth taking as much as the circumnavigational trail as possible to enjoy both the rock and the desert landscape of Uluru National Park. At several points along the trail, there are interpretive signs that help you understand the rock, the ecology and the aboriginal people. I got to spend 20 minutes on the trail after my climb, and it was a very pleasant walk, though marred by the occassional loud teen-age tourgroup. Leave a Comment
