See Uluru from the skies
What better way to see Uluru than from the skies in a helicopter. We booked our trip with with Viator online and were picked up at our hotel. We were taken to Ayers Rock Airport where we took off and headed over the Yukara Resort to Uluru. The views from the helicopter were fantastic and you get a better sense of the size of it. We then continued on to Kata Tjuta before turning back for a last view of Uluru before we landed again. Well worth the price for a unique experience.

Whether you decide to climb the rock or not, it's still worth taking as much as the circumnavigational trail as possible to enjoy both the rock and the desert landscape of Uluru National Park. At several points along the trail, there are interpretive signs that help you understand the rock, the ecology and the aboriginal people. I got to spend 20 minutes on the trail after my climb, and it was a very pleasant walk, though marred by the occassional loud teen-age tourgroup.

Wild life scared to death - Kata Tjuta
Tiny monster and its habitat - Uluru National Park (Ayers Rock)
Tiny monster and its habitat

Wild life is one of the features of Australia that is most widely promoted. The chances are that the wild animals would enjoy the less urbanized areas of the continent and thus live up to their name. The "red hot" center is one of the most uninhabited corners of Australia and the expectation is that it is teeming with life, wild that is. Well, all living creatures with the exception of the birds seem to be scared to death. Neither small nor big dare to venture in this national park. Just to prove this point wrong, one tiny lizard stayed bravely on a beloved stone, soaking the sun despite the camera being practically touching it. Bravo, little devil!

    kata tjuta
if u want to see the view from above there is no need to climb the rock, just move further to kata tjuta where you can go quite high and enjoy a marvellous view without offending anyone.
