Hungry Jack's: Is it Burger King or not?

by saraheg77

Well, I finally broke down today and went to eat at Hungry Jack's. :) When I first saw it, I knew it must be owned by Burger King, so I surfed it online and found out indeed it was. Here's the story from their site!'Hungry Jack’s® is a franchise of the international Burger King™ Corporation and has operated in Australia since 1971. The first restaurant in the Perth suburb of Innaloo opened on the 18th April 1971. In the first ten years of operation Hungry Jack’s® had grown to 26 restaurants in three states. Hungry Jack’s® entered Victoria by purchasing 11 restaurants from the ailing Wendy’s Hamburger Chain 1986. Nine of these restaurants were converted to Hungry Jack’s® over a four month period. In 1990 there were changes to the franchise agreement which allowed Competitive Foods to franchise Hungry Jack’s® restaurants as independent businesses. At the same time the Burger King™...

BRISBANE JAZZ CLUB

by Amelei

Since it was formed in 1972 to 'promote awareness and participation in jazz of all styles', the Brisbane Jazz Club has provided opportunities for both amateur and professional jazz musicians to meet and play together on a regular basis. The Club's great location on the banks of the Brisbane River provides an ideal setting for members and their visitors to hear the best of Australian and International jazz artists at their regular sessions. The Brisbane Jazz Club's energetic committee is in constant touch with what's happening in Australian jazz and whenever an artiste or band is ‘coming through on tour’ they're sure to be asked to play for us.One of the very few jazz clubs anywhere in the world to have its own dedicated premises, the Brisbane Jazz Club is a very sociable place too, and is fully licensed so that members and guests can enjoy a drink whilst listening to their favourite music.

Mures Fish Centre Upper Deck: Excellent seafood

by aramat

The Mures Fish Centre is a complex of different catering styles, including the more upmarket Upper Deck where I had dinner, the seafod bistro Lower Deck, and the Orizuru Sushi Bar, plus the Fishmongers seafood shop. The food was excellent and the service even better, the waiters/waitresses were very friendly and attentive. Mures smokey chowder - I love all kinds of chowers and this one was particularly good.

Pancake Parlour: Pancakes :-)

It's a chain serving both sweet and sour pancakes. Jewish Blintz (crepe filled with cottage cheese, cinnamon, raisins), served with sour cream and lemon... yummy. Apparently it's made according to a very old recipe.

STAMFORD'S PLAZA'S "SIGNATURE" RESTURANT.: IF U MISS AUSSIE FOOD, U'VE MISSED A LOT.

by dhaval972

infinite variety of food in Australia reflects the diversity of its land. In the South, dense pine forests and lush green pastures cover the land that is used to grow beef cattle and prime lamb, whilst its cold, clean southern waters provide delicious lobster and scallops. Grazing gives way then to the lush vineyards growing on the Terra Rosa soil of the Coonawarra, and cropping lands of the upper south east with their majestic red gums. The mighty River Murray turns red desert sand into a lush market garden and orchard as it wends its way from our northern border, to the sea on the south coast at Goolwa. Along its length are orchards and market gardens growing citrus, grapes, stone fruits, melons, tomatoes and a cornucopia of vegetables crops for local, interstate and international markets. World class wines grow in the slightly cooler climate of the Adelaide Hills, McLaren Vale and...
