Want to enjoy fruits without paying too much? Plus, fresh, juicy, crisp and healthy fruits 9and even vegetables) without breaking the bank. The answer is do a PYO.
PYO means pick your own fruit- apples, pears, oranges, etc...
Where to go for this? Just over an hours' drive from our Sydney Hills District home is
BILPIN, near the BLUE MOUNTAINS in New South Wales, Australia.
The picking season for fruits like apples (all sorts of varieties like RED
DELICIOUS and JONATHON, GRANNY SMITH, etc) is usually from January to April
(the good ones)- sometimes they also last till June. Just follow th BELLS
LINE OF ROAD and you will see signs that show where the orchards are.
You fill up a basket and fruits normally cost from $3 a kilo! What a bargain!
Plus your kids will love to eat fruits as they themselves picked them!
Cheers and happy picking folks!
