Byron Baby Shop: Baby equipment rental

If you're traveling to Byron with a baby or toddler and don't want to lug everything along give the Byron Baby Shop a call. We rented a backpack carrier/"papoose" for $25 for the week. Great to have when hiking in the hinterlands or walking on the beach. Friendly staff. The store sells new and used baby gear, clothes, toys etc. as well as doing rentals. Located in the Arts and Industry Estate about 3-4km out of downtown Byron.

Markets Map

Renowned as one of the best craft markets on the North Coast, Byron Market is an experience not to be missed. Buskers performing original songs to performers miming or juggling can entertain the whole family. The food is out of this world and the craft is unique and colourful.

There are also other very interesting markets happening in the northern rivers of NSW area. They are all on different weekends, so check the website for market schedule.

Shop Entrance

On our previous visit we purchased a magnificient framed photo of Byron Bay including the lighthouse taken from an aeroplane. It now hangs on our family room wall and nearly always gets a comment from visitors. On this recent visit we browsed through the shop and enjoyed looking at the various items on display. There is something suitable for everyones budget.

What to buy: Pictures of all shapes and sizes to hang in your home.

What to pay: Varies from AU$20 TO $500.

Faberge' Style Eggs

If you happen to be here during the weekend, there is a local market happening.
I didn't have the opportunity to see this, but apparently they have a lovely range of goods, art and craft, for sale..

What to buy: I would think you would see a lot here that you don't normally see in the general shopping areas. So I guess, whatever catches your eye.

What to pay: Totally up to you.

2nd Readings: Get all the travel info ...cheap

The second-hand bookshop in the complex where the YHA is has a great range of travel books and Lonely planet guides. As so many people coming through Byron have already done the big-trip Asia they jettison their LP guides here.

As these things are so darn expensive anywhere else - it is a good way to get them cheap.
