The Stoke Stable museum is a museum about the life of the early settlers and it was built inside an old convict dating back to the year 1849.
Even when you get there OUTside of the opening-times there is a lot to see around the museum - just take a look at my extra-pics as well.

The old Court House was one of the first buildings that was built in Carcoal. Australia was settled mainly by prisoners and so that might have been one of the reasons, why even in the smallest villages there is always a very impressive courthouse and the police-station is mostly next to it nowadays.

The old postoffice is a guesthouse nowadays, called "Five Frogs" and it looks great from outside, just a pity I was not in the mood to have some tea there on that great terrace. In case that you need an accomodation, this might be a good solution - see their telephonenumber and the link to their webpage below !

Nowadays that the trainline to Carcoar was closed a long time ago, the only way to get to Carcoar is by car.
Carcoar is one of the very few villages that I saw in New South Wales, that does not have such wide streets, that allow parking on both sides of the road, but you will find enough parking-spaces there anyway.
