    Greenhouse Tavern: Children Friendly
  • Satisfaction:
  • This was a great find for Coffs Harbour, and there arent many other similar places around Australia, well wherever I have been anyway.

The meals here are cheap, drinks are cheap and the entertainment for children is fantastic.

There is a indoor kids play area, complete with 5 or 6 different games to play, a dvd room and the outdoor playground. No parents or adults are actually allowed in the play area, which means there is peace of mind for parents. There are also video monitors of the room so you can keep an eye out on the little ones, and what mishchief they are getting up to.

Meals are large, cheap and fantastic.

We went on a Saturday and Sunday night.

Sunday would have to be the best for value. Sunday Roast for $11.90, which includes a drink or house wine, a beer or soft drink. So effectively you get a roast for $7.90 as the drinks are valued at $4.00

Childrens meals come with a soft drink and ice cream.

Their Sticky Date Pudding is to die for!

Now called The Carvery aka(The Leaf and Beef ): Iced coffee with the real deal
  • Satisfaction:
  • The Leaf and Beef is another of the quick food outlets at Park Beach Plaza with an extra bit of pizzazz.....well yes, they do have piece of pizza too.

If you are feeling like a baked meal yet not end up full to overflowing, the Leaf and Beef is the place to go for lunch. You can choose from a large range of ready to go foods and they also offer some nice cakes and biscuits too.

I really enjoy their iced coffee because unlike most fast food places, they use the expresso coffee previously made and chilled. The essence iced coffee is a little too sweet for my taste, so this fits the bill very nicely.

No matter what you would feel like to eat for lunch the PBP Food Court has everything just about.

My favourite is their roast lunch either pork, lamb or beef.....just enough for lunch.

    Pina Colada: Organic Juices

They have a great crew working with them adding to the overall experience.

Great atmosphere at this small juice bar.

Do not miss a liver cleanse or any juice for that matter from this place.

The Wall of China: Jelly vegetables in blood red sauce
  • Satisfaction:
  • I had expected something better from this resturant. However, I will never again order plum sauce... A jelly sauce with the blood red colour... and vegetables "fresh", jelly as well from the can... No, I won't recommend this.

Tide and Pilot: Best Melt in your mouth seafood
  • Satisfaction:
  • The food, ambiance and location of this brasserie make a wonderful place to impress your fellow travellers.
I still dream of the prawns that were melt in the mouth fresh, an experience I had not had since my youth growing up in NZ when we scooped the seafood from the ocean and cooked it there and then.

Mine is the seafood but never mind if you do not eat seafood there are meat dishes also.

Unravelau's treat: Best expresso and muggacino in Coffs
  • Satisfaction:
  • When I am 'in the mood' I would be one of the best cooks in Coffs Harbour. (Yet to be tested ha, ha).

    BUT

I do make a mean expresso and a wonderfully frothy muggacino on my home machines.
