    While we were having lunch at the Tide & Pilot I happened to notice, out of the corner of my eye, this purple bodyboard out front of a nearby shop. Now purple is my little angel's favourite colour & I thought she'd like it, but I wanted her to discover it for herself. So...., when the girls started to get a bit bored my wife took them for a little walk & she did indeed discover it herself & rushed back, very excitedly, to tell me all about it. So what does a doting dad do. Yes sports fans, no prizes for guessing the answer to the $64 question. Yep, go buy it for her. Now hear's the good news! It was2ndhand & only $25 (Australian) so it was indeed my pleasure to buy it for her.

    As explained above that was our big ticket item. Mind you a brand new one from inside the shop would have set us back well over $300 so I considered it an absolute bargain. My princess was very good about it & only asked for a little hair accessory which it was also my pleasure to buy for her at much less than $25, a mere 8.95 as a matter of fact. And for himself what did Dad get. Again you've guessed correctly......... Absolutely nothing!

  • Across the road is another large complex with electrical, furniture, car accessories, hardware etc. Then just under the bridge (coming from the north) and on the right hand side is a five cinema complex with a number of food outlets and a tavern to boot. Under the bridge and to the left you will find Mother Natures dedicated to the fruit and vegetable market. .

    You can get everything that you need in Coffs Harbour.

    Park Beach Plaza is probably the largest shopping area in Coffs Harbour and is presently discovering that they need more parking space in school holiday periods.

    Just about anything that you are looking for can be purchased here and it suits me fine. I live close by and often just pop into the Muffin Shop (Say hi to Charles and Vanessa) to have a great capuccino.........their food is great too, but I buy far more coffee than anything else.

    All of the shops here have prices comparable to the big smoke.

    The shopping complex is one of the three major shopping areas in Coffs Harbour. The Jetty Village has a number of service shops i.e. laundry, chemist, internet access, craft, cake, general store and a number of restaurants. It is a popular area for breakfasts, lunches and dinners because of its proximity to the beach and the festive atmosphere. It is also the venue for the Sunday Market another popular 'thing to do' at the weekend.

    The shops here on the whole cater to the holiday maker.

    A similar price to the other two centres.

    Coffs Harbour Mall caters to all shoppers' tastes, with everything that you would find in a huge department store available to you in smaller shops.

    I get everything that I need in Coffs Harbour.

    Not much more than in the big city and sometimes you can find things cheaper.........you can always buy bananas from the farm off the side of the road.

    Such a wonderful shop ! full of beautiful things and with displays and information on opals and other gemstones and minerals we spent a happy hour here browsing and chatting to the friendly assistant there was no pressure to buy anything, but we got great advice on the different stones available and the prices were very reasonable, so when camcorderman insisted l have a souvenir of Coffs Harbour l didnt argue too much !

    well the best thing to buy at an opal shop is a piece of opal jewellery, l got a lovely pendant, but there were some lovely samples of minerals, only the thought of how heavy they would be in our backpacks stopped us from buying a few large pieces

    my pendant in a gold mount cost A$65, this is a solid opal, not a slice of opal below a dome of clear quartz chrystal, but prices start at less than A$20
