Wharfside Cafe is 'the' seafood restaurant in the port of Eden. The Wharfside has the reputation for being the nicest place to have breakfast or lunch & has a great mediterranean seaside ambience (hence its name). The Wharfside not only offer seafood but a wide range of other meals. They're also licensed & offer a range of beers & wines by glass or by bottle. The pricing is good & reflects value in the meal. They have specials for those on tighter budgets & also have a more upmarket specials menu too. Wharfside also has the reputation for serving the best coffee in town & have many testimonials from Australian & also foreign visitors in their visitor's book commenting on how superb the food is and how excellent the coffee is. Wharfside has inside & outside seating (large sun filled courtyard) with many plants & flowers outside creating a parisian atmosphere. Highly recommended.
The Wharfside's website is: www.wharfsidecafe.com.au - menus are available online
Favorite Dish: In my opinion & many others who've commented in the visitor's book, the mussels are the best ever experienced. Grilled fish with creamy garlic prawns is also highly recommended. Not to mention a Caffe Latte or Flat White.

We stopped here to have coffee and cake during a visit to Snug Cove and the port of Eden. The cafe offers indoor and outdoor tables with views of the harbour. The service was good the coffee & cake up to scratch so we came back for a light lunch and were not disappointed.
The room is undergoing renovation and while it already has a nautical ambience, it may be more so in the future.

The Eden Oyster Bar is located at Eden wharf in Snug Cove. Although located opposite the car park, it's interesting watching the comings and goings of a working port and the fishing boats form a picturesque when sitting outside.
The decor is "fishermen's tavern" with nets, buoys, shells etc around the ceiling line. Main cafe area is outdoors, but with clear plastic walls that can be rolled down to keep out bad weather. The overall effect is casual and relaxing and the friendly owners do most of the cooking and serving themselves.
Unfortunately it wasn't open week nights during our stay (weekends only, except in summer) so we didn't end up having dinner there. However, we had some very nice breakfasts and lunches. And for coffee lovers it's by far the best place in town to get a good strong espresso or cafe latte.
Favorite Dish: Beautiful, fresh oysters were our favourites but all of the seafood was terrific. And the coffee was fresh, aromatic and made to our individual tastes (strong for me, weaker for my partner).

I wouldn't normally recommend a McDonalds as a special tip, but this one is different.
What sets it apart is it's location. It's a glassed in, cafe style Maccas on the 2nd floor of a building directly overlooking the sapphire blue waters of Merimbula harbour. I really don't think any other 'restaurant' in town could compete with this view. It's fantastic.
Favorite Dish: Well, we all know what's on the Menu!
My recommendation is the 40c soft serve ice creams. Always nice!
