Most of the limestone caves here developed over 400 million years ago and are very much still alive as a living cave system. There are dry and wet caves to be found and many are accessible at a fee. Tours often must be booked during the busy holiday season as group numbers with a professional guide are restricted. Tours start at AU$20 and take around one hour. There are more extensive tours taking in a number of the caves.

Address: Jenolan Caves
There are several ways to get to Jenolan caves. The easiest is the scenic drive to Katoomba and the windy road down into the Jenolan Valley, alternatively you can catch a a train to Katoomba and a bus to the caves http://www.trolleytours.com.au/day_tours.html#caves
There are many companies who do day trips from sydney - here are a few googled

Do not go to Jenolan caves on a holiday or long weekend or if you do be prepared!!!. I went on the Easter long weekend and half of Sydney was there. We had to park about 2km from the caves and had to stand in lline to buy a ticket for over an hour. There were only 2 yours avialable in the next 2 hours.
Unique Suggestions: So if i was doing it again I would 1) go really early in the morning 2) prebook my tour on the internet 3) Dont go during a holiday
Serioulsy I am not exagerating it was like every person in Bondi had been telported and plonked in the middle of the national park .
