The Cockatoo Run Tourist train is operated by, 3801 Limited and travels between Sydney and Moss Vale on Wednesdays and Sundays. The train consists of a Heritage diesel and restored 1932 carriages.The train departs Sydney at 09.00 and travels the scenic coastal rail line to Wollongong, Summit Tank, Robertson, arriving at Moss Vale at 13.55. After leaving Wollongong, the train will climb 600 metres in 16Kms.to Summit Tank. The train will stop here, allowing you to enjoy some of the most panoramic views of Lake Illawarra and the South Coast. (In the days of steam, it took 3 steam engines, two up front and one at the rear to move goods trains from Wollongong to Summit Tank.) The train then continues to Robertson, arr 13.20. Passengers can leave the train here and rejoin the train on it's return trip at 15.10 or continue on to Moss Vale.The train arrives at Moss Vale 13.55 and returns to Sydney at 14.40 arriving at Sydney at 18.30 The return fares are at present. $85.00 Adults, $75.00 Seniors and $60.00 Children
