A collection of approximately 3,500 tea pots amassed over 30 years is housed here at Bygone Beautys, this is the worlds largest private tea pot collection
admittedly we didnt try to count them all, but they are everywhere around. Among the tea pots are hundreds if not thousands of beautiful things to buy, both antique and modern..........every possible surface is covered and very corner filled
the charming tea rooms serves light meals and cream teas, the cream teas are super with warm soft scones, and lashings of jam and cream served with a large pot of good tea for $9.50 each
its a nice place to visit if the weather is unkind

i randomly walked into a coffee place while walking randomly along Glenbrook off Leura.. little did i noe that they have the best strudel that i've ever tasted!! the place is cosy.. with nice chillout music in the background.. the setting pretty much complement the cool weather at the peak..
Favorite Dish: do check out the hazelnut strudel!!! its pretty much the nicest-tasting pastry i've ever eaten! to those of u walking around with "sweet-tooth", the hazelnut strudel is really worth the try.. n rmbr to couple the strudel with a mocha coffee.. its sure worth the AUD$9bucks which it cost.

I ate at Leura Village Takeaway Food during my daytrip to this Blue Mountains village in April 2006.
I had spent the morning walking through the mountains at Katoomba and then walking from there to Leura.....so I'd built up quite an appetite by the time I arrived at this no-frills take-away joint.
This humble establishment is located on Leura's main street, "The Mall", close to the top of the hill.
The menu includes a large selection of fast food including fish and chips, burgers, steak and egg, sandwiches, bacon and egg rolls, salads, barbecue chicken, prawn rolls, crab sticks and various other seafood options.
Opening hours
Mon - Weds 9am - 7:30pm
Thurs - Fri 9am - 8pm
Saturday 9am - 7:30pm
Sunday 9am - 7pm
Favorite Dish: I opted for:
Fish and chips - Cost: 6 AUD
A reasonable sized portion of chips, an average sized battered fish and a slice of lemon. far from the best fish and chips that I had during my trip, but not too bad.
Bottle of Schweppes pink lemonade - Cost: 2.10 AUD
Cheap fast food in the mountain village of Leura.

I didn't actually eat here, was just admiring the building as it was rather attractive. ...and as a Francophile I couldn't resist having a look.
The menu seems rather expensive, even by French prices in Australian. Most main courses $33-$35. Desserts $15-$19.50 ea.

Good range of cakes and pastries, prices seemed quite reasonable.
Favorite Dish: I had a most delicious small lemon tart for just $1.50, similar to what I've had in a French patisserie in Melbourne once where I paid about triple the price! Very reasonable indeed.

The Candy Store is the place to go if you have a sweet tooth. The store itself is small but jam packed full of every type of candy around the world both loose and packaged. Liz and I literally wandered around the store five times just trying to take everything in from the lollipops, chocolate bars, hard candy, jelly beans and other items.
Liz was able to find some of her favorite English Toffee while I found of all things a Strawberry Iced Pop Tart. I know I can find a Pop Tart at home but I just had to have it when I saw it. We left the store with some gummy fruits, gummy spiders, Pop Tart and English Toffee. These were perfect sweet treats for our ride back to Sydney.
What to pay: My Pop Tart was $2.50. Liz's English Toffee was $3 for a large container. The gummies were $2 a package.

Appalingly poor value for money accommodation. Maple Hill Spa Cottage is not even close to the quality its advertising and photos suggests. The much hyped spa hardly bubbled. The bed was hard. The supplied instant coffee was also hard. It wasnt flash in any way. the accommodation is badly in need of updating. Definitely not 4 or 5 star accommodation more like 2 to 3 star and certianly not worth the $250 for a night we were charged. We wrote to the owner and complained she did not respond. Certainly no supplied breakfast basket as it promotes in its ads. Obviously Old bedding. Stuck on flowers on the wall. Plastic tablecloth. Very second rate!!!!
Unique Suggestions: Pretend you have money to burn on poor value accommodation
Fun Alternatives: Just about any other accommodation in Leura.
