The climb up to the Lighthouse at the tip of Palm Beach takes just about 30 mins. The area is a part of the Ku-Ring-Gai Chase NP, and the view is quite good up there. Though, it can get quite windy at times.

Visit Summer Bay (Home & Away)

Like Home & Away? (Australian based night time soap opera) Like to visit TV 'sets'? You can walk around the outdoor areas where Home & Away is filmed here at the north end of Palm Beach. You will see many familiar scenes and sights. One time that I visited, there was a guy there next to the surf lifesaving boat offering photos with the lifeguard shirts for $1.00 per person. I almost said no, but now looking back at the photos am glad I took advantage of this unique opportunity with my friends. Even if no one is there to offer 'official photos' you can still have a good look around, take photos and the beach scenery is a bonus.

Palm Beach RSL Club: Ok, The RSL Club isnt really a restaurant...

This RSL is probably one of the nicest I've ever been to (besides Cronulla).
Absolutely child friendly, they have a large beer garden out back with big bird averies running the length of the area. It adds a nice touch to the place and kinda nice to have a beer in the afternoon sun, listening to the birds.
They have a nice bistro here, although it is a bit pricey in comparison to other RSL Clubs. It is Palm Beach!

Favorite Dish: All mains come with salad or fries. Expect to pay between $15 and $20 for a main. Kids meals from $6.

Public Transport to Palm Beach

Start your trip at Central Station in the heart of Sydney's CBD and catch the L90 bus. I'd recommend getting a window seat on the right side of the bus, because it's a beautiful bus ride going by many of Sydney's amazing northern beaches. It's one of my very favorite bus trips, going by all these beautiful beaches. The trip is about 2 hours by bus, but worth the time due to all the fabulous scenery.

The bus will let you off right next to Palm Beach. You can visit some of the exclusive shops or get a bite to eat. The beach is right across the street and it is AMAZING!

Visit the Sydney Bus website below to ge the current pricing, bus pass info & timetable for the day and time you are interested in.

Don't forget your sunscreen!

Warnings and Dangers

ALWAYS SWIM BETWEEN THE SAFETY FLAGS

SWIM BETWEEN FLAGS IN DESIGNATED SWIM AREA

PALM BEACH
When swimming at Palm beach, like all city beaches are not without their dangers. This beach is patrolled by Surf Life Savers, "ALWAYS SWIM BETWEEN THE SAFETY FLAGS". This is a wonderfully clean and safe beach to swim.. Palm Beach has its own Surf Club, so has its own group of dedicated Life Savers that everyday in the summer months inspect the beach each day for the safest area for swimmers.
These designated safety areas are then "flagged" with yellow/red safety flags and these are the only areas that you should swim. Australia prides itself on its Surf Life saving fraternity as the rescue thousands of swimmers every year...most are volunteers.
