If you're in Parramatta during winter, you might be lucky enough to catch the local Rugby League side, the Parranatta Eels. Games are played on either Friday or Saturday night or Sunday afternoon.
Check out the local papers - its a great Aussie experience to spend some time at the footy.
Games are played at Parramatta Stadium, about a ten minute walk from the station. Right next to the stadium is Parramatta Leagues Club where you will be able to ebter as a visitor, and have a relatively cheap meal and some drinks.
