Long day trip from Sydney. Better to spend more time.
In a nutshell

Definitely worth a couple of days if you like your food & wine with lovely scenery
vividvivian Says: Hunter Valley's speciality in its wine tasting activity and wine tour, no matter if you are a fan or not, you will love the area and the environment. of course, it will be a kinda waste that you do not have any wine tasting at all, but staff in there still giving the best...

trisanna Says: This is a beautiful folky kind of place. The head chef is responsible for all the painted artwork and funky interior. The food is minimalist and unique, using local ingredients. Their house wines are their own label. Lovely food, but the prices are on the high side. I think...
See the Hunter Valley by Balloon
aussirose Says: On one of our early trips to the Hunter Valley hubby and I took a champyne balloon flight. This is a nice way to see the countryside and very romantic. You can see all the pics in my travelogue.
aussirose Says: Here it is!! The ferry is like an old barge. You drive on and there's plenty of time to get out of your car and check out the view. I definately recommend this way to the Hunter Valley.
aussirose Says: We did a wine school at the Hunter Valley Resort where we stayed for the week. Here is a pic of a big vat in which white wine is kept. Young whites are matured for about 6 weeks. Reds take much longer and they do them in oak casks.
