 | Port Macquarie Restaurants | Tips 1 - 10 of 12 | | Popular Restaurants | Other Restaurants Tips | All Tips (12) The meals that I saw were breakfasts and all looked very appetizing and filling. Having had breakfast before I got there though I couldn't eat again..BUT the customers that I saw ate every bit of their food which must mean something. The coffee was great, and that is what I came for. See comment by foodgirl1540 who talks about the food served here.

It's quite simple. RSL Clubs are all over Australia. The RSL evolved as a direct result of the camaraderie, concern and mateship shown by the "Diggers" for the welfare of their mates during and after the 1914 - 1918 War. That ethos of compassion and service remains today the motivating influence of the League. To eat at the RSL you must me at least 18 and first join the RSL and complete an application form.
It's always a buffet and is at offered at the lowest price. We had (for example): * Chicken Hawaii; * Fried chicken; * All kinds of salads; * Some sandwiches. * Etc. Cedro's menu is full of clean, fresh flavours. The food tastes delicious, and feels very healthy. Unlike most places we tried in Port Macquarie, Cedro offered an exciting range of breakfast options - much more than just eggs! Chargrilled vegetable stack drizzled with fresh pesto, yummy corn fritters with smoked salmon and fluffy hotcakes with rhubarb and berry compote. The coffee was amazing too. We went back for lunch again and again. The lunch menu was just as fresh and exciting, with plenty of options for our two kids. The Moroccan spiced lamb burger was so delicious - with just the right amount of heat in the harissa yoghurt dressing. My wife loved the prawn and chorizo salad, with saffron aioli and cucumber. Beautiful outdoor garden seating, with river views. The staff were great - very friendly, with a real desire to please.
My favourite dish was angel hair pasta with a crab, preserved lemon and capsicum sauce. The crab was beautifully fresh and generous, with the preserved lemon giving a salty tang. The dish was light and fresh, and just amazing. Service is always good, there's a fresh atmosphere around the place (aided by the colourful decor and staff attire) and the food has unique variety. I had my first experience with a teardrop tomato here. An unforgettable one as it turned out. As Rosemarie plunged her fork into it it sprayed out of one end all over my shirt! Don't hold that against this fine establishment though. The prices are reasonable and it's family friendly as well.
Basically I enjoy most of their dishes because of the variety of foodstuffs they include with them. Their salads are far from ordinary with oddities like the aforementioned tomato, a slice of watermelon, mandarin, beetroot and others too numerous to mention. (Actually, I've just forgotten most of them.) Leave a Comment Theme: LocalPrice: US$11-20 » Currency ConverterComparison: about averageDirections: On a corner just one block up from Horton Street

This is another popular cafe/restaurant where you can get a good hot evening meal for less than Au$10. It is the sort of place you know you can get something you like when you are tired at the end of day and want to quickly get back to your room. It is open from early morning fot breakfast and closes about 8:30pm, there are always people at the tables, we ate there twice during our 7 day stay. One evening I had the half chicken roast meal with plenty of vegetables, cost Au$9. This is a very popular place for breakfast, lunch and dinner, there are always people in the cafe. It is more than a cafe as it had a large semi alfresco dining room adjacent to the cafe and this is where most people like to be. As we did not reserve a table we had to take the vacant table in the cafe which worked out to be fine. It was an interesting menu and the staff were very good explaining some of the meals. Jill had grilled barrabundi (fish) on rice and a separate bowl of steamed vegetables, and I had a piece of veal resting on baked potatoes and other vegetables. Both meals were excellent, in fact Jill said her meal was the best she had eaten since we commenced our holiday over 3 weeks earlier. We finished a most enjoyable dinner with coffee, the bill being AU$60. This Cafe Restaurant had style and advertises itself as "Cusine with Charisma" and I am sure it would provide this during the evenings. We had coffee and cake on several afternoons and found it to be top class. The cake came in a dessert bowl with all the trimmings, I had Sticky Date Pudding and it was a delight, combined with coffee of choice it was a paltry AU$7, about half the price it should be. We had a look through the evening menu and it had some exotic meals, however we could not find time to return in the evening. It is BYO. This Ice Cream Cafe was located on the street corner next to our accommodation and we walked past it several times each day. Eventually we purchased some icreams and they were delicious, however we noticed there were always people in the cafe and the light meals, breakfasts, hamburgers etc they served looked good value even though we never purchased anything excep the ice cream.

We had been touring all day and chose this restaurant as it was next door to our accommodation. It turned out to be a good choice, a very nice indoor restaurant with an alfresco section for warmer evenings. We wanted good comfort foods and from the extensive menu orded Lasanga and vegetables, my wife had her's with salad. We were impressed with the meal, very tasty and a large serve. Recommend to anyone looking for Italian food. The restaurant has bar service. Our meal cost AU$19 each.
