    SETTLEMENT CITY: LARGE SHOPPING CENTRE

by balhannah Updated Nov 10, 2013

    2.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

Settlement City is a large shopping complex with many specialty stores. Inside are major retailers like Big W, Woolworths, Best & Less. Then there are many other stores that include Fashion, Electronics, Books, Homewares, Gifts, Shoes, Music, Hair, food and many more.

The centre has a good food court with a variety of food outlets including Subway, Kebabs and lots more to choose from. No worries about seating, there is plenty. Michel’s Patisserie and Donut King usually have deals that include a cake & coffee or 2 donuts & coffee.
The centre even has a children’s playground for children under 8 years. During the school holidays the centre puts on special events for children.

Depending on what shop you want, some open from 8.30am and close at 9pm on certain days.
The majority are open 9 -5.30pm
They do vary, check the website as it lists the opening and closing times for all stores.

No worries about parking either, PLENTY OF FREE PARKING and a Fuel garage.

It is the place to do all your shopping!

SEA ACRES RAINFOREST CENTRE: BEAUTIFUL GIFTS

Sea Acres Rainforest Centre has a wonderful gift shop you can browse around.
Most of the gifts represent Australia in some way, making it the best place I found in Port Macquarie for international visitors to buy unique Aussie gifts.

The shop catered for every age group. Just inside the door were what I and a French couple liked.
The hand painted tiles that were glazed and very shiny, would look very nice on a wall or on a display stand. There was a beautiful NSW red Waratah, and lots of Australian Birds and Animals. Prices weren't bad, the quality was good.
Another unique gift, was a greeting card with a Kookaburra on the front. On opening the card, the Kookaburra laughed!
Quite a few of the gifts here were different to the usual.

It would be very hard to decide what to buy!

    BRITISH LOLLY SHOP: BRITISH SWEETS

    British Lolly shop
    1 more image

A walk across the paved square from the Glasshouse brought me to the British Lolly shop. I couldn't miss it, for out the front was the wooden toy soldier!
I didn't count the lolly jars, but read they have 400 full of lollies. Now, what to choose is a problem, not for me though, I knew what I wanted when I saw them, the candy lolly watch bracelets for the grandchildren. Do you remember them?
You can buy from the website or in the shop. I thought the prices were fairly expensive.
