Miscellaneous:
As soon as we left the NSW coast to go inland to Canberra we noticed all the horrible flies. They fly into your eyes, nose, mouth and ears! From Canberra to Cooma, the entrance to the Snowy Mountains it got even worse so we walked into an outdoor shop to see whether they had any fly nets for sale. They were sold out! Next stop Jindabyne theyt were also sold out and in Thredbo where we would stay sold out too. Luckily the guy in one oudoor shop in Jindabyne told us he would get a small shipment in the next morning. He would reserve some fly nets for us. So next morning we had to drive back to Jindabyne to pick them up and luckily we did reserve them, since the other lot were sold out again!!
So what to take if you go to the Snowy Mountains in summertime: A flynet! Okay you do look a bit silly with the thing over your head but it is a real relief...
Luggage and bags:
Take bags that are easy to carry...especially in the winter when you won't be able to pull them along the ground on rollers...
Clothing/Shoes/Weather Gear:
Take lots of warm clothes...even in summer it gets cold! In winter you will need all sorts of wet weather/snow gear too...
Miscellaneous:
Don't forget your sunscreen...the sun is VERY strong up there!!!
