This tip is actually about the ski resort of Thredbo, but it fits better with my tips for Jindabyne so I've put it here.

This is a tip for SUMMER - the chairlift still runs up from Thredbo Village to Eagle's Nest. Once up here either go for a stroll around and enjoy the stunning views (this photo was taken in early spring after the ski season had ended and there was still snow on the ground - we have even seen snow as late as December right up on the main range!). Eagle's Nest is also where the track up to Mt Kosciuszco leaves from...see my 'Must See Activities'

To avoid using wheel chains, use the Ski Tube
From Jindabyne, follow the Thredbo signs and then take the Ski Tube turn-off. Park your car, then hop onto the Ski Tube. I personally prefer to drive to the ski resorts as I can leave things inside the car, but we took the ski tube. The combined cost of the ski tube and lift passes on Perisher Blue is $119.00 (2007 prices).
