Landing on the island other than on the eastern side at high tide is a trap. The western and southern sides (and northern to some extent) are the shallow sides of the island and the tide drops off quickly. If you become stranded it could be a 12 hour wait for the next high tide. There aren't any phones or facilities on the island, nor any fresh water. Even if you have a mobile phone and get someone to pick you up, you'll have to go back again for the boat.
