The Lord Nelson is one of those pubs built into an old building that really has a good feel about it. We came along to here on one of our last days in town. I was very comfortable and had I been able to find a beer I actually enjoyed I would have spent some time here. Being a microbrewery they have their own which for me don't measure up to what I'd like.
The Lord Nelson is named after the famous Naval Hero Admiral Nelson and there are references throughout the bar to him and his Naval victories.
Sydney has an endless supply of nightlife. Kings Cross is full of live music in bars, pubs, discos and piano bars as well as the more Adult type venues and is Sydney's only 24 hour area. The Rocks also has a great selection of restaurants and bars and there of course Circular Quay with its many restaurants and the Opera House, if you get the chance to take in a show.
Lord Nelson - The Rocks This is one of the oldest licensed premises in Australia. It has retained its authentic flavour while serving some of the best beer and food in Sydney. There is a bistro downstairs which is very reasonable and a restaurant upstairs which will serve a more varied and upmarket menu. The Nelson has its own brew as well 'Nelson's Blood' which is brewed on the premises.
