 | | | | Opera House / Harbour Bridge: The Bridge at midnight | Tip Rating: | | | | |
I was back and forth on the merits of doing a bridge climb.... it's so expensive. In the end I decided it's one of those things that you will probablly only do once, even if you visit Sydney multiple times, so I plunked down my money (or more properly my credit card) and up I went. Up, that is, after an hour's safety briefing, jumpsuit fitting, training session, and last-minute toilet visit. The climb takes 3 and 1/2 hours (prep, up and down), and as I was in the 9:35 pm group, I actually *was* on the bridge at midnight. Was it worth it? Definitely. I might even consider doing it again on some future visit to Sydney.
Wear whatever is comfortable. You will be issued a jumpsuit to put on over (or in place of) your clothes. Remember that you will be getting some exercise and may get a bit sweaty. Wear closed shoes. If you don't have your own, they will loan you some rather uncomfortable-looking rubber trainers. Ah. Almost forgot... you will have to do a breathalyzer test before the climb, so don't have that second beer to try to get your courage up!
