Sydney city at night: Shangri-La Hotel

We went to their cocktail lounge on the 36th floor and waited for a table so we could enjoy the view. As you enter the lounge you can ask to be put on the list so you can enjoy the view. Believe me you dont want to miss the view. We went on a Thursday night after the theatre about 11pm and were rewarded with the best seat in Sydney!! Our table was at a large corner window were we just looked down over the bridge and opera house, we were intoxicated by the view!!! This is not the place you go to party the drinks are little more costly than average $12 for scotch & coke but we felt like we had won lotto and that is how we were treated by staff.

Dress Code: There is a dress code last time we went we couldn't get in as my son was wearing runners. Most people were smartly dressed ie pants, shirt and shoes for the men and the ladies were smart. Not sure that even "dress" jeans would cut it.

    Ivy: Hottest new bar

An amazing new bar which opened in Sydney a couple of months ago, It is actually a complex of bars and restaurants,

I would recommend the Patio bar for a drink with friends and for some people watching, Mad cow has fantastic food, but make a booking because they can get quite busy, If you are after a place to chill out try the ivy lounge or terrace.

    for more info:

http://www.merivale.com.au/ then click on the ivy link

Dress Code: Can be strict, shirts for men, no jeans or sneakers but that depends on when you go and how busy they are.

Hyde Park occupies quite a significant area in the city map so how could I miss it? Due to limited daytime, I went to the park after dark which made me a bit nervous as my friend told me that she saw a horrible man removing his pants to show his bum to her when she was walking in the park at night a week earlier. Luckily, I didn't meet any strange people there. All I could see was just this lovely picture, so peaceful, so calm.

    this is the place

There are alot of clubs and bars around Sydney . To me lve been to juz a few of them . However there is a pub called " 3monkeys " which 's very popular for asian people ( but there are also lots of Aussie too ) They play live music and play HIT songs. it 's cool .

Dress Code: Anything you feel good . But try not to be so casual .
