 | Sydney Darling Harbour / Cockle Bay Restaurants Reviews | Tips 41 - 50 of 56 | | The mix seafood platter as appetizer is value for money. The waiter (an english chap) is cute and attentive. Wines are reasonably priced for the standard.

The thing with this place is that its all about location. To be honest, its really great! You can stroll through the park, or shops...and settle right on the harbour for your feed. If you get an outside table you can enjoy your company, sip on some wine, and people watch all at the same time... The waiters here all carry around this little computerised hand held order system, so once placing your order it goes direct to the kitchen. It feels like by the time the waiter gets to the kitchen, your meals done, at least you dont have to wait long!
This place is pricey, so take your cash! It seems the most popular dish is the massive seafood basket. It comes out in a dramatic 3 tier arrangement. Costs around $130, but is definately for 2. if you think you might go a bit cheaper than that be warned. With the entrees averaging around $30, you might possibly get away cheaper by ordering the seafood basket! Everything is fantastic here. For an entree I would recommend the scallops, and definately the seafood basket. All in all, I believe the price you pay is more for the location and ambience then the food itself. That is enough for me to register it worthwhile. At least just on special occasions :) DONT FORGET TO MAKE RESERVATIONS! I'M ANGUS STEAKHOUSE IS A GREAT RESTAURANT WE CAME ACROSS WHILE WE WHERE STAYING IN SYDNEY. THE RESTAURANT IS IN COCKLE BAY WHARF/DARLING HARBOUR AREA OF THE CITY. WHAT I LOVED ABOUT THIS PLACE APART FROM THE FOOD WAS THE STAFF, FOR A VERY VERY BUSY RESTAURANT THE STAFF ALWAYS HAVE TIME TO RUN OVER THE MENU WITH YOU, GET MORE DRINKS OR JUST PASS THE TIME OF DAY WITH YOU MAKING YOU FEEL THAT YOU ARE THE ONLY PEOPLE IN THE PLACE. I'M ANGUS IS A FAB PLACE TO DINE AND PEOPLE WATCH AT THE SAME TIME WITH ITS LOCATION RIGHT ON THE WHARF THERE IS ALWAYS LOADS GOING ON. THE RESTAURANT IS FAMOUS FOR ITS STEAKS AND THERE ARE SOME MOUTHWATERING ONE'S TO CHOOSE FROM, AND WHEN YOU HAVE MADE YOUR CHOICE YOU CAN WATCH IT BEING DONE AS THE WHOLE KITCHEN AREA IS MADE OF GLASS AND VISABLE FROM MOST OF THE TABLES, I LOVED WATCHING THOSE GUYS DOING THE STEAKS IT'S AN ART FORM IN ITS SELF. IF WINE IS YOUR THING THE RESTAURANT HAS LOADS TO CHOOSE FROM TO HELP WASH DOWN THAT GREAT STEAK MEAL. OR DO AS I DID AND HAVE AN ICE COLD BEER. WE PLAN TO BE BACK IN SYDNEY NEXT MARCH AND IVE NO DOUBT WE WILL BE BACK IN ANGUS...MY ADVICE IS BOOK AHEAD OR YOU COULD END UP WAITING FOR A TABLE ON A BUSY NIGHT...WHICH CAN BE MOST NIGHTS..ENJOY.
MY WIFE AND I HAD A FEW DISHES AT ANGUS BUT MY FAV WAS CHARGRILLED RIB EYE STEAK 350 GRAMS WITH MASH AND A CHOICE OF SAUCES $35.00. IT WAS LOVELY AND DONE EXACTLY AS I ASKED. AT ANGUS NON MEAT EATERS ARE ALSO WELL CATERED FOR. |

This stylish al fresco restaurant has already established a reputation among Sydneysiders for its premium quality steaks which can be enjoyed while taking in the atmosphere of the passing parade. The menu offers a great range of cuts from the 250g fillet medallions to the 600g T-bone steak and even a giant mix grill platter. Non-meat lovers are also catered for. To complement such mouthwatering dishes, I'm Angus boasts rack after rack of some of Australia's finest wines, representing the industry's famed names and vintages. This is the perfect venue for holidaymakers to experience the very best of Australian produce.
Rack of Lamb with Mediterranean vegetables. The cheese plate and the yummy selection of wine! Leave a Comment Theme: SteakhousePrice: US$21-30 » Currency ConverterComparison: about averageAddress: The Promenade - Cockle Bay Wharf - Darling ParkPhone: +612 9264 5822 |
I had walked by earlier in the day and seen the lobster and decided to go back at night and try it. You can sit outdoors in a Mediterranean-style setting right on Cockle Bay Wharf. It is a great atmosphere to have dinner. You don't have to go in there with a suit on, but I would recommend dressing nicely. I liked it here so much I ate here on my second visit. On weekends, you may want to make reservations. On a saturday night, we waited an hour before getting a table, which was fine because there is so much to see at Darling Harbour.
We split the seafood platter for two. This was great. We started off with oysters on the half shell and fried calamari, and were also served prawns, mussels, crab, and a big lobster. The food was excellent and the display was very nice. Leave a Comment |

I have dined here a few times over the past year or so, both lunchtime and evening and never been anything other than delighted. They seem to have mastered the knack of serving great food from fresh local produce with the minimal of fuss, yet with great stlye. Simple fresh Oysters, Prawns, Fish of the day....it all arrives in good time, perfectly prepared and served by knowledgeable and courteous staff. You could take anyone to this place, business colleagues, freinds or family. Last time I was there I had a half dozen oysters and a substantial flounder, grilled simply with salad and a home made mayo based dressing...perfect Will be back again next time
Whatever the waiter recomends - it's all great. Theme: SeafoodPrice: US$41 and up » Currency ConverterComparison: about averageAddress: Nicks - Darling Harbour on the Aquarium side |
I love coming to this place and other branches of this popular restaurant/diner. I can indulge in my favourite food- pancakes anytime of the day, not just for breakfast! They have the usual combinations of pancakes- with strawberries, pineapples,,eggs, bacon, sasusages, hash browns.,etc..things we love for brekky but can still eat whenever you like. There are delectable sweet styles with chocolate sauce, maple syrup, caramel, etc. Just divine, trust me! The crepes are also fabulous. I tried the Tabriz once which is like Mexican fajitas with cheese and guacamole. As usual, youngest son got his fave fish via the Fisherman's basket - the most expensive again for $23.95 for some fish fillets and chips. HE enjoyed it a lot so nothing much to complain about. Fish is probably expensive that season we were t here! They cost nothing more than $12-$15 in our are or even cheaper for one battered fish fillet and heaps of chips! Well, anywhere in Darling Harbour is truly a bit dearer than other areas. It was cheaper in Japan even! By the way, this place is an award winning family restaurant too! it has long hours- from 7 am to around 11 pm or sometimes till midnight! It is harder to get a table at their Northmead branch which is ironically nearer to our home. I recommend you book ahead to avoid disappointment! You'll never think pancakes are just brekky food!
We loved the pancakes and crepes, and hubby liked his pizza too. My eldest enjoyed his ribs and youngest the fish so at least everyone was happy! The servings are generous too! |

Great place to hang out, overlooking Darling Harbour

Darling harbour, Cockle Bay, and King St Wharf have plenty of restaurants and bars. There are heaps to chose from, and all kinds of lush cuisine. It isn't a cheap place though. Pontoon, near Pyrmont Bridge, isn't really a cheap place to drink, but they have a bbq grill with everything on the menu coming in at under $10. The location is spot on, and it pumps at night.
The whole menu, all 6 or so items, rocks! The usual bar food, burgers, steak sandwiches, and grilled vege burgers. All with chips.
