TETSUYA'S: Japanese/ French/ Modern Australian
Tetsuya's used to be located in hard-to-find Rozelle, only frequented by people in the know. Now, its in the city on Kent Street, with a slightly larger dining area.
Apart from the mouth-watering meals served here, a very unique feature is that there is a set meal of 7 courses for each diner.
Each course is small, yet an absolute masterpiece, in presentation and taste. Japanese/Australian Head Chef Tetsuya Wakuda says he likes to use cooking influences from many different cultures. Most evident are Japanese, French & Modern Australian.
This is the perfect kind of place to take a very special (and lucky!) someone, especially due to the price. However, it looks like a lot of business deals go down here too.
Favorite Dish: The dinner started with a bracket of five small dishes. These were a tea and tomato soup, scallops served on the shell and garnished with lemongrass, a dish of octopus served on potato and garnished with wakame, scampi with deep fried leeks and a crab sushi.
These dishes were followed by the famous confit of Tasmanian Ocean Trout (sometimes he does it with Atlantic Salmon) cooked in extra virgin olive oil and garnished with a vibrant green parsley oil.
Next we had veal served in a large white bowl with porcini mushrooms and a rich, intense broth accompanied by blanched potatoes.
A light broth accompanied spatchcock with fresh soy beans and spring onions, peas and bok choy.
We finished the meal with two desserts. An apple sorbet sitting on top of an apple jelly then a ginger creme brulee.
Tetsuya's: One of the top 5 restaurants in the world
This place is out of this world.. Definitely the place to go for a really special occassion or if you want a truly unique dining experience. It is very pricey but I'd say it's worth every cent. The food is so good it's indescribable - the whole time you're chewing away you don't want the taste to end!! The best!! :)
Tetsuya's: Crazy Expensive but worthed
we ask for a good restaurant the address was Tetsuya 's.I think that this restaurant is the pride of Sydney. If you choose the ten course degustation you dont have to spend your time to understand whats going on and you are surrended to the chief .Its expensive but if you can afford it you have to try it.( I am one of the customers in Rozelle)
Tetsuyas - 5 stars,...
Tetsuyas - 5 stars, expensive.
Darling Mills - 3 stars
Tetsuyas can only be booked 6 weeks in advance, they will not take earlier or later bookings. Most international entertainers dine here. It's wonderful.
Favorite Dish: Tetsuyas - definitely definitely definitely the oysters ! Huge oysters with an exquisite sauce ontop, he brought out 2 oysters per person and we had to special order more ! It's a set menu, french/asian, but you have to experience it at least once. Lots of little dishes keep coming out, you will be so full by the end guys, don't fill up on the bread when you see the small dishes. You have been warned !

In 2007 Restaurant awarded fifth place on its list of the world's top 50 restaurants It has been named Good Food Guide Restaurant of the Year for 2007.
This is a fine dine-in and ethnic restaurant
Favorite Dish: There are a lot of foods to choose form because it is neither Japanese, French or Australian, rather a haute cuisine combination of all three, prepared with refined taste. The only dining option is a degustation menu ($175 each), and the waiters description of any particular dish (there are ten!) takes longer to hear, in most cases, than it does to eat. Refined food at a rarefied price.
