    Cafe Sydney has one of the best views you could possibly ask for in Sydney - it is located right opposite the Sydney Harbour Bridge. It has an outdoor terrace dining area which is fabulous, particularly on a warm balmy night. One Friday nights from 10pm they have live Jazz playing. Entrees about $26, mains about $34

    The Oysters I had here were up with the best I have ever tasted!

    This small tearoom is found in 'The Rocks' section of Sydney. I had breakfast here the last day before I headed home. I have no idea if it still exists. But there are many other places to eat in The Rocks -- from cafes and bars to gourmet restaurants. You won't go hungry in Australia! In fact I found the food unbelievably fresh until a friend explained to me that it was all grown within a 100 or so miles of the coast -- so it didn't have to travel far! Even the food on Ansett Airways was fresh:)

    I fondly remember the restaurants at The Rocks with views of the harbour and the Endeavour ship. Go check them out!

    Fantastic old world feel in the Rocks in general and in this pub in particular. They brew some of the best beers in Australia too with my favorite, the Old Admiral.

    Ploughman's Plate with authentic 'damper,' a tradtional Aussie bread.

    Sydney, and indeed most of Australia, is a great place to eat. The largely coastal population have access to great seafood and they cook it in a great many styles, fusion is the word most often used to describe the Australian interpretation of dishes from around the world. There are heavy leanings on Asian food and home grown produce and it`s all great, usually eaten outside and with a bottle of great local wine.

    We went to BAMBU, with the lovely Nikki, and tried a selection of cocktails but the menu looked and smelled great too, alas we didnt get to eat as there is too much to do in Sydney and too little time to do it, so we kept moving.
