 | | | | The Rocks and Circular Quay Restaurants: Cafe Sydney - a letdown | Satisfaction: | | | | |
I was looking forward to going to this restaurant, recommended by a friend, but was disappointed with the actual experience. Granted, there are great views of the Sydney Opera House, but only if you get a decent table near the window. We went as a big group, and they only allowed us to have the set menu because of the size of our group, and the menu was pricey at a cost of $110 per person, with very limited choices. You couldn't choose the appetizer, it was set at cold seafood platter, there were 3 choices for mains; steak, fish or veggie, and 2 choices for dessert. The service was unbelievably slow, it took us about 3 hours to complete our meal, so slow in that even before dessert were served, some friends were thinking of leaving already becuase they had an early start at work the next day. The food itself was presented nicely, but with the long long gaps between each course, we were struggling to eat our food as we were feeling full already. If I had been able to order a la carte from this place and with a faster service, I would probably have enjoyed this dining experience a lot more.
