  • Birkenhead Point: Discount outlets

by jennyvmck Written Oct 22, 2011 1 reviews

Birkenhead has some excellent bargains as does DFO at Homebush but you are advised to get there early on a weekend when most local people go. A weekday is a better option. A cab from the city would be expensive and negate the value of going in the first place. Birkenhead has the advantage of being right on the water so you can have a scenic meal or snack if you like. Last time I was there I bought from the RL Polo shop, Laura Ashley, Oroton, crabtree and evelyn etc other times I have come back with nothing.

    Birkenhead Point: Shopping for Bargains

    Birkenhead Point

Birkenhead Point is a factory outlet on Victoria Road in Drummoyne.

Its been around for years so thats whats so good about it... plus there are a fair few designer labels there... which no lover of shopping would complain about :)

What to buy: When u take a trip out to this factory outlet.... expect to see shoes and lots of fashion stores for men, women and children. Homewares and lots of other goodies.

Stores include... Oroton, OJAY, Morrisey, SABA, Allanah Hill.. just to name a few.

Some nice cafes to go to after a day of shopping also.

What to pay: Once again depends on what you find... Take a credit card just in case.

  • Birkenhead Point: Horrible. Traumatic.

Full of my favourite brands. But once we went into Ojay, we saw a security guard. We didn't give it another thought until he followed us into the next few stores. It's good to know they're keen and keep people safe and stop the crim's out there, but really horrible when you're innocent and trying to enjoy shopping and being followed like you're nicking stuff. My friend's tramatised. She's not going back even though she lives there. She's the reserved, shy kind of person as well. I don't think I will either even though the shops were good.

Birkenhead Point is a shopping centre full of brand name stores where you can buy merchandise at discount prices. Major department and speciality stores are represented here and offer end of season stock or goods that havn't sold in the city stores. You really can pick up good bargains. A taxi only cost us $10 or so from the city.

What to buy: Clothing, shoes, cd's, accessories - just about anything.

What to pay: Cheaper than normal prices.
