Board a ferry at Circular Quay, and enjoy the 30 minute trip to Manly wharf. You will pass the sites of the Opera House, Harbour Bridge and all the suburbs sprinkled along the eastern part of the harbour. Once at Manly, it's a short 5 to 10 minute walk to Manly Beach. It's a nice day out. There are plenty of restaurants at Manly to satisfy your taste buds, and you can enjoy a swim or just enjoy the view out to sea. Leave a Comment

Catch a ferry to Manly beach in the early evening, go for a walk along the beach (and/or a swim), have dinner in one of the beachfront cafes, then catch a ferry back to town when it is dark to get a good view of the city from the harbour at night! Much cheaper than an evening cruise and worth it to see the harbour bridge, Opera house etc. all lit up. Directions: Catch a ferry from Circular Quay

Go the beach. Ride the fast boat over to the island. See blue mountains and ride the trolley down---very scarry but fun. See the Sydney zoo--marvelous first time visitor. Leave a Comment

Manly is completely different than downtown Sydney. When you'e on the main beach you look out on the open sea and don't have the slightest impression that you're so close to a metropole. The boulevard along the beach is a great spot for a stroll, a run or some practice with your inline skates. The beach itself is full of surfers trying to show off their best tricks on the waves. All in all a good place to go, especially if you wanna get away from the city. Leave a Comment Directions: Go to ferry terminal 3 in Circular Quay and take the ferry to Manly

The answer to the previous question is Bondi Beach and it was taken in 2004 would you believe. When I saw Bondi it reminded me of a beach scene for like the 60's or 70's in Ireland ! Ok so its not cold but the absence of any beach umberellas and loungers while probably a good thing, is like a throw back to a bygone era of going to the beach with just your towel, bucket and spade and probably if you live in Ireland or the UK a wind jammer to stop being sand blasted or frozen to death by the chilly breeze !! However the real atractin of Bondi is when you get down to the beach itself and you experience the surf that you know why its so famous. Its great to watch skilled surfers on the right hand side of the bay surfing the waves. I expected Bondi to be full of muscle bound body beautiful types and while of course they are there they do not dominate the beach and it really is a place full of all shapes and sizes which is great for the more self conscious bathers !
