Beaches: Bondi Beach
There are many beaches in the surrounding areas of Sydney, but I honestly think that the blue 'Sydney explorer' is the way to go, as it takes you on a very scenic route to the world famous Bondi Beach!

I was very excited about going here as I have heard wonderful things about Australian beaches, Bondi Beach in particular. But also, because it was my first opportunity to 'touch' the Pacific Ocean!

We went at a stupid time, so the sky wasn't very bright, bright enough but still, I recommend going very early in the morning!! The sand was an amazing colour, and it was great seeing surfers doing what they do best!! There was not one piece of seaweed anywhere, which i was ecstatic about!!

There are a lot of shops and restaurants where you can get amazing seafood (or so i have heard...I don't eat seafood...!), But all in all, it was a great trip.

Obviously its best to go during the Australian summer, though it is still great in winter!! Don't miss out ok?

Beaches: Visit one of the beautiful beaches
Manly beach during the week - Sydney

There are so many beaches around Sydney - it's great! We mad an excursion to Manly Beach, one of the best known beaches. We took the ferry from Circular Quay and half an hour later we were at famous Manly.

It was quite windy with high waves so swimming was forbidden due to security reasons. We then moved to a small and sheltered bay "just around the corner" where we were allowed to swin - but the water was so cold, brrr! ;-)

    Beaches: Surfing in Sydney !
These photos were taken at Bondi Beach, but there are plenty of great beaches up and down the entire Coast of Australia. Check out as many as you can - Manly, Curl Curl, Palm Beach areas, Central Coast....

    Beaches: Bondi Sense of Humour
This beach has been said as popular spot during summer, but when i visited it wasnt summer.so there're lesser people surfing and hanging out at this place during non-summer.To get here, take a public bus. There are rows of shops and cafes too nearby.Nice place.

    Beaches: Manly Beach
This beach is somewhat catered to the senior group of citizens in NSW. As the town leads a slower lifestyle as compared to the city, people here are also generally older and more carefree..

The beach is filled with people from young to old and there are so many shops selling fish and chips there! yum!

This is a popular beach probably because it is so close to the middle of Sydney and the sand is a very nice colour. The easiest way there is to catch a bus.

Beaches: Bondi to Clovelly beach walk
This is a really nice walk along the coast with some gorgeous views. It ends at the Clovelly cemetary and from there we wandered over to the Clovelly Hotel for drinks and lunch. It's not too strenuous of a walk and you can stop at several beaches along the way.

  • Directions: Facing the ocean at Bondi Beach go right and follow the path.

    Beaches: Cliff Top Beach Walk
This is my No. 1 Top thing to do in Sydney. An exhilarating walk from picturesque beach to picturesque beach. You can take the scenic route and get closer to the edge or just stick to the cement joggers path. Take your swimmers and towel if it's summer and go for a swim when you're feeling too hot. Don't forget suncream as the walk will take a while - 4hrs.

You can do the trip either Coogee to Bondi or the other way around. You can finish the trip at the Bondi Pavillion or the Coogee Bay Hotel.

Its always nice to have some fish and chips at Bronte Beach on the way.

They have the Sculpture by the Sea festival along this route in early November and is alway a good way to enjoy the walk.

  • Address: Coogee, Clovely, Bronte, Bondi
  • Directions: Coogee Beach to Gordons Bay then Clovelly Beach. Through Burrows Park (i like to go around the bowling club here close to the cliff). Around Waverley Cemetery and down to Bronte Beach. Then a wide cement path around to Bondi Beach (busy usage).

    Beaches: Manly Beach
This is my favourite beach in Sydney. Easiest way ti get there is the ferry- Dock 3 from round the corner from the opera house.

Its about $13 for a day return. When you get accross to Manly, you walk through a ittle row of shops, including all the surfing brands and some nice little pubs.

The beach is long, has about 8 volleyball courts, a surfing end, and a swiming end. Us being brave and stupid ran straight into the water in the middle and waded out- then wondered why noone else was in the water there. Then we remembered- bluebottles!! These are little jellyfish that sting like hell for an hour afterwards- but nothing can be done to alter it. If you go in the swimming or surfing section there are no jellyfish tho, so dont worry.

Oh yeah- lot of tourist girls seem to have surfing lessons, and they tend to be rubbish and fall of- worth wandering up that end for a look :p
