Bondi Beach by Canadienne Bondi Beach is very popular ~ the restaurants and cafes are a bit on the expensive side. The real reason to visit, however, is to enjoy the stretch of golden sand ~ whether you surf, swim, walk or just watch the activity. Our visit was in July, so there weren't many surfers still braving the weather. Leave a Comment

Bronte Beach... and many more... by amyhenderson The Bondi Beach to Bronte Beach Coastal Walk is spectacular, with dramatic cliff tops to small, intimate beaches. This walk is a great, invigorating experience. The walk is approx 2.5kms one way, medium grade and with some steps. Picnic areas and most beaches have BBQs, kiosks and toilets. If you just want to walk one way (doesn't sound far, but is a little more adventurous than it sounds) you can catch the 378 bus back to Bondi Junction. Leave a Comment Address: The walk begins at the Bondi Pavilion. Walk down tDirections: The walk begins at the Bondi Pavilion. Walk down to the beachside promenade, and continue towards south Bondi.

by emerald125 Breath-takingly beautiful and close to Sydney. Take a look at the picture, that should convince you! This is also where they film 'Home and Away' for any Pommie fans. There is a Youth Hostel at Church Point called 'Pittwater Youth Hostel'. Fantastic for a night away from town and under $25 each. The Hostel has good walking tracks and canoes you can use to explore Pittwater Leave a Comment Address: Ku-ring-gai YHA via Church PointPhone: 9999-5748Directions: The YHA is a one hour bus ride from the city. Bues run from Central Station (no E86) There is no car access. From the bus stop you catch a ferry then a 10 min walk.Website: http://www.yha.org.au/hostels/details.cfm?hostelid

Last in's a Flaming Gallah!!! by weewatty No visit to Sydney is complete without a trip to Australia's most famous patch of sand, Bondi Beach. Don't know what I was expecting but really its just a beach, sounds silly but i was prepared for something a bit more mystical. Saying that it is a good beach, a wide expanse of sand giving us loads of room on the day we visited, although i hear it gets packed on Holidays. Watching the numerous surfers catching a wave passes a good half hour, and talent spotting on the beach ;-) takes up the rest of the day while you sit back and catch some rays, remembering ofcourse to slap on the sun lotion. More than enough eateries on the streets directly off the beach, take a walk up to the ocean pool at the South End of Bondi, a good spot for taking pics. Visit the link i have included in this tip, i get pictures from Bondi beach in my email in box every morning because i subscribed to their free service Leave a Comment Address: Bondi Beach, Bondi JunctionDirections: Just beside the sea.Website: www.aquabumps.com

Palm Beach is the very last beach north along Sydney's coastline. It has two types. The main part is the surf beach on the Pacific Ocean side (east), and the western side, Pittwater (Hawksberry River) side where there are no waves. The more ideal part for swimming is the eastern side though. There is also a lighthouse which you can walk up to for great views. The TV Show "Home and Away" is filmed at Palm Beach, known as "Summer Bay" on the show. Leave a Comment Address: Ocean Road, Palm BeachDirections: Drive norh past the suburb of Mona Vale. Follow Barrenjoey Road until the end where you enter Ocean Road. Or, get the L90 (Palm Beach) bus from the City either from Central Station, Town Hall or Wynyard. Check website for timetables.Website: www.131500.com.au

Coogee Beach ------------------- This is a nice beach during the day and at night, it sometimes can get a little noisy with many tourists and locals drinking heavily at the locals bars and pubs. There are plenty of nice restaurants and cafes too, so it can be enjoyed regardless of the weather. There is also a nice park that runs along the length of the beach. Type = Surf. Salt-water bathing pools available. Bars, cafes and restaurants. Getting There = From Bondi Beach, bus route 222 or you may walk along the coastal walk via Tamarama, Bronte and Clovelly beaches. From the city centre, get the bus 370, 372 or 373. From Bondi Junction Station, get the 313 bus. Maroubra Beach --------------------- See the "Eastern Suburbs Beaches... Part V" tip for Maroubra Beach and photos! Leave a Comment

by leffe3 Part of the South Head - Sydney Harbour National Park tip, but worth highlighting separately if you are looking for a nudist beach while in Sydney. Bit of a schlepp to get to just to get all your togs off, but incorporated into Watsons Bay and South Head, worthwhile. Ferry to Watsons Bay from Circular Quays and then walk for approx 15 minutes. Bondi Beach by sabrina_florida You know Bondi in Argentina (pronounced bondee) is the slang for bus! Anyway, Bondi is the biggest and most crowded beach in Sydney. Packed with surfers, young people and families (weekends) as well. If you want a snack you just cross the street. There are lots of shops. Also there are people selling bottles of home made juice in trolleys. At the weekend there is a market with very nice craft. Leave a Comment Address: East Sydney.

Blue sky, white fine sand, clean water... Bondi! by backpackerbaby, 4 more photos Why Bondi is so famous? I decided to find out this time, together with my babe. Bondi was quite different from what I had imagined. I was amazed by its long shoreline, I was overwhelmed by its white fine sand and I was surprised by its clean water. It's a beach of a city but its quality is so high!!! If only we could have one such beach in HK.... The waves also attracted lots of surfers. I was so jealous of them. I wish I could surf too. It looked fun and cool... We walked on the beach towards the left end (left when you face the water), where there's a path leading to some vantage points. The view from there was simply unbeatable. I was in love with Bondi. No matter how touristy Bondi is, its uniqueness and charm are still there to steal your soul. Leave a Comment Address: Bondi BeachDirections: There are buses running on Oxford Street to Bondi Beach. Or you may take the train to Bondi Junction and then change to a bus. Note: Bondi Junction is not the same as Bondi Beach. Don't take the wrong bus.

Tamarama Beach by MikeAtSea Also along the seafront of Sydney this beach is also called Glamarama Beach, it is a little more difficult to get to due to the path leading down the hill. Glamarama because the pink scene also gathers here. Leave a Comment Directions: Along the seafront between Bronte and Bondi Beach
